Info needed on Vickery, OH

Post by PartofthePhlock »

Hey all you northern Ohio pholk.
We are heading up to Vickery, OH tomorrow. Never been to Vickery. Been to Sandusky a few times. Will be stopping at Margaritaville in Sandusky for sure.

Can anyone tell me what kind of road to expect on US-23(2 or 4 lane?) and if we will be running into any construction between Cincinnati or Columbus an Sandusky.

Thanks for any help you can give us.

Phins going North!

23 is mostly 2 lane after you get about 40 miles or so out of Columbus. Think winding, twisty roads with people who need a lot more coffee in their lives.

Thanks R2. I ususally go I75 to Sandusky but we thought we would try 71 this time. May have to rethink this option. I can't believe I agreed to go north in the winter.......guess I really need to get a way.

Topless, M'ville is on Route 6 West, Sandusky, Ohio. Phone number is 419-627-8903. I bought a very cool t-shirt there last year, palm trees and all.

here is a like to a pick I posted last year

Looked at this for the KD Moore CD party, and there really is no good way north. Either you go to Toledo and across; up to Cleeeeeveland and double back halfway across the state; or you go up thru Buckyrus (World's Greatest Brats) and meander and wander around on 2 lane roads north to the lake.

We got to Vickery and back with no problems. Ended up going up I-71 and US-23 etc. Not much traffic, but then when you leave at 6am most folks are still in bed. Roads were good, about a foot of snow in the ditches but none on the road. We were surprised at the size of the rivers and flooding. Turns out there was no heat on the passenger side of the truck so I passed on all the planned "fun" stops (i.e. Margaritaville and shopping) to get back home where it was warm. However we did stop at a little place called "Little Tavern on the Prarie", I think it was in Fremont, and had some delicious Lake Erie Perch for lunch. There were plenty of TV's with the football and a good size card game going at this stop.

All in all it was a fun trip, even if we didn't get to Margaritaville. :(
Didn't know there were 2 M'ville so we will need to plan a SPRING trip to the lake.

a) Fremont is pretty close to Capt. Flock's neighbourhood if I remember right;
b) Spring? heck, just head north for Put-In-Bay's Phlocking a day early.. ;D
