I HIGHLY reccomend this book:
Gives Great detail on all the rides, restaurants, and attractions. It plans out your day so that you hit everything you want to and avoid lines. (Disclaimer: you will be doing a lot of walking!)
It also includes other Orlando theme parks like Universal, Sea World, etc.

Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,
I'm just a one man band,
With my feet in the sand,
Tonight I just need my guitar

I haven't been there for years (like, Epcot didn't EXIST yet) so I can't offer much help, but I hope you have GREAT time! :D

www.passporter.com

I have owned about 15 Disney Books over the years and have found the PassPorter to be the best... it even comes with room in the back for a journal of your trip!

Not sure what questions you have.

I live about 7 miles from the Disney East Gate, have a number of friends who work at the park in a wide range of capacities, and spend a fair amount of time in and around the Disney property (ate dinner at the new Irish Pub in Pleasure Island last night)

Would be glad to answer questions by PM or board posts.

Thanks for all the input ~ I better get started! (And yes Topless, I look forward to it, if not before!)

I would like for it to plan itself, but I'm guessing that won't happen. So far, I've looked at a couple sites... mainly Sams Club Travel so far. I'd like to tell "them" when I want to go, and have it all worked out for me. We don't have tons of money, and from that standpoint, I'd think we could skimp on the accomodations, since so little of the time will be spent in the room. Last time I went, 18 years ago, my friend and I split a room for $20 a night in Kissimmee! Sure, there was algea and dead insects covering the surface of the pool, but like I said, it was just a bed! I'm sure my kids would prefer a swimmable pool however.

Oh well, off to bed.

I started looking and got overwhelmed!

We hope to stay on Disney property so as not to rent a car... don't know much more than that! 8)
I was at the Disney Swan and Dolphin recently. Very nice place and a little cheaper than one of the themed places (like their Key West themed hotel :pirate: ). It was only a 5 minute boat ride to Epcot (10 minute walk) or MGM and a short shuttle ride to Magic Kingdom.

Not that it matters but Swan and Dolphin aren't actually owned by Disney. They're still decent though. That;s why they are the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin as opposed to like Disney's Old Key West....

I have stayed at both and would recommend a Disney resort hands down! Especially Old Key West, which has the Key West charm and there is always a little bit of Jimmy playing on the loudspeaker :D

And be sure to go to www.disneyworld.com and request the FREE Vacation Planning DVD... I get one every year even if I am not going to Disney. It helps when you are going through withdrawal, or even to build up the excitement for a trip!

Pardon me for the post marathon, but I just keep thinking of more to tell you! (This is a subject I am very passionate about)

Disney's Value Resorts are as cheap as 80 bucks a night in value season and have THE COOLEST looking pools! And as with anything else in Disney, they are absolutely perfect when it comes to cleanliness!

If you are looking for an Island feel at a smaller price, check out Caribbean Beach! It has the tropical feel without the prices of OKW or the Polynesian.

Would that also have easy access to the parks?
