Anyway, I thought it would be neat for everyone to post a picture of their dogs...
does he (the dog) snore as much as the boyfriend? Who has the better-trimmed mustache?

We have four dogs. 2 big dogs 2 little dogs, all of them mixes. I'd have more but I damn it just costs too much. Plus I think we are running at maximum capicity here.

having spent a bit of time around standard red smoothy dachshunds, I found they like hearing their native German as much as possible, even if it means making up words to stroke their little egos. Tubenhunden=dachshund (tube dog).
and they are merely crafty, manipulative little dogs.. Nature's clowns in the dog world with a penchant for motoring.

I have got an English Bulldog named AJ (short for my name Adam John). I'll post a pic when I get a chance.

Don't have a picture, I can post, But we have a fifteen year old Golden Retreiver/Chow mix. She is 99.9% golden, the only give-a-way is her black tongue.
She is old and deaf and nearly blind and moving slow. She will not be around long and I will be crushed when that happens

I hear ya. I will be an absolute mess when it's AJ's turn. I would actual prefer him to outlive me so I don't have to deal with it

My Merlin is 15, and I'll be an absolute basket case when he goes.
Same with Desdemona (the Shepherd in my avatar), although she's only 4, and, hopefully, will be around for awhile.
Her recent surgery had me scared as heck, but she seems to be recovering slowly but surely.

Here's mine--two-year-old yellow lab mix. Her name is Piper. She's the bestest doggie in the world.

My best buddy in Jax just called me and we laughed until we cried...I had told her about this thread and she had to bury Suzie last year, shortly after I lost Fritz. Both dogs were 16 years old. She just called to tell me about a dream in which the Vet had told her Suzie was going to die. (That actually happened) Then the Vet said if he gave her a "magical shot" she would still die but she would keep going (like NOT die) for 3 more weeks. Okay, she would be dead, but not...and SHE AGREED!!! So, after a few weeks (in her dream anyhow) Suzie began to look really bad, (realizing she had been dead for 2 weeks now) and then the dilema...how do you bury a dog that you love and still running and playing??? Bless her heart. I told her she was still missing her pup terribly and I sympathized. I dream of Fritzie a lot still too.
For those of you who are lucky enough to have "old family" (the furry, 4 legged kind) go scratch behind their ears and rub their bellies. My playful pups are sweet and I love them but no one will ever be Fritz...or Suzie!
