a tan mini tubenhunden? :)
Translation please.

If tubenhunden mean mooch, then yes she is! :D
having spent a bit of time around standard red smoothy dachshunds, I found they like hearing their native German as much as possible, even if it means making up words to stroke their little egos. Tubenhunden=dachshund (tube dog). :D

and they are merely crafty, manipulative little dogs.. Nature's clowns in the dog world with a penchant for motoring. :)
Ahhhh...the only other nick I knew was "Badger Dog".

She is only 3/4 daschund. Her mom was 1/2 Jack Russel, and 1/2 dapple daschund. They bred her with the red smooth male. She lookslike her dad for the most part except her ears are shorter and she has that little bit of white coloring on her chest. And can you imagine the combined energy of a JR and a wild Badger dog?? :D :o :D

And you got that right for crafty, manipulative little dogs. She has us wrapped arounf her little paw.
:D

Year of the Dog;

1922, 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006

People born in the Year of the Dog possess the best traits of human nature. They have a deep sense of loyalty, are honest, and inspire other people¡¦s confidence because they know how to keep secrets. But Dog People are somewhat selfish, terribly stubborn, and eccentric. They care little for wealth, yet somehow always seem to have money. They can be cold emotionally and sometimes distant at parties. They can find fault with many things and are noted for their sharp tongues. Dog people make good leaders. They are compatible with those born in the Years of the Horse, Tiger, and Rabbit.

I hate to say this, but this is so right on.... :o don't ask me how I know

about 7 years ago, I got to see a pack of dachshunds dolphining thru high grass after what they thought was a badger or something similar. 8 of them, all standard red smoothies, the smalllest female being about 20 lbs, the largest, two males at over 35 (and not fat, solid muscle)... not a badger on earth that would have stood a chance.

and they are great dogs. :)

They do have the tenaciously of a bulldog.

Andie is only 15 pounds. She use to be about 12 pounds until I babysat our daughter's chocolate lab, Bailey. Bailey eats Bil-Jac dry dog food. Well Andie got into her food and won't eat anything but this stuff. It has really put the muscle on her. I can't get her to eat any other dry dog food. I guess I should be happy she like the good stuff.
