Right now I have two dogs, a German Shephard and a Golden Retriever and they are faithful, loyal and loving companions. I've always had dogs and cats and frequently horses, rabbits, birds and fishes for pets.

Good Lordy, there's been a slew of pups through this house over the years. All but one of "needed a good home" for one reason or another. All were/are very loved. All but one was Heinz 57 (no French Fried Potato! ).

Currently, we have Scooter, an eight year old Shepherd/Lab "ish" mix who lives to play with his (tennis) balls. He literally got dropped in our yard one morning when we weren't looking. He'll always be special to hubby and me b/c he's the first dog we raised together from a puppy.

Then there's Pudd, the four year old Lab "ish" guy. Dumber than a stump. Sweeter than Pralines. Loves to kiss his Mommy, so he gets away with all but the most heinous crimes. He's special just b/c he's so "spayshul."

Loved 'em all. Kills me when they pass away. Every last one still lives in my heart. Heck, as I type this I think of my first dog of "my own" after college. She died nineteen years ago, and I STILL tear up when I think about her.

One thing I can say in the whole "plus and minus column" of life: I've made a lot of doggies feel loved and secure. Hope that counts for something in the Big Book :D

I do beleive there a special place saved for those who rescue pets. And those animals that are rescue know what you have done for them, and love you that much more. :)

Havana just joined us. She was a stray, but is already housetrained and a complete sweetheart.

Image

Sparky, the Inky Dog, isn't quite sure what to think of her.

Image

Dixie, the Jack Russell, thinks Havana is all that.

OMG I LOVE JACKS!!!

They can be a handful thou  My son's dad has 2. I've had the pleasure of dog sitting them for my son. They both have such unique fun personalities but I would hate for either of them to get out of their yard. Man those little legs run FAST.
