I took in starving stray cats, and fattened them up and gave them love and even cat toys. Then while I was out of town last weekend they killed my pet gerbil. What's up with that?

Yeah. My rescue mouse probably wasn't uber well equipped to survive in the wild. I'm sure he was eagle meat eventually (there's quite a few bald eagle nests near where I live).
