Where do you get the Canidae dog food? I've noticed Pet Smart's dog food is really expensive! I want to treat my doggies good, they seem to like the purina.
It is hard to find. There is place near me who almost always has it or they can order it.
The vet at her clinic lways tells clients.
Rule of thumb, if the dog food is sold in a super market's Walmart, Target etc... it isn't good dog food.

most specialty pet stores will carry high end dog food like Canidae, Solid Gold, Innova etc... You can also get them online. Places like Petco and Petsmart do not carry these. I pay $40 for a 40lb bag.

Exactly what I pay. It takes my dog about a month or so to get through the bag.

Exactly what I pay. It takes my dog about a month or so to get through the bag.
I give the Canidae to AJ for treats as well since he loves it so much so we go through it a little faster. $40 is well spent. AJ has nice strong choppers and a shiny coat

Have you told the group what AJ stands for yet???
Another brand that is very good, but also hard to find, is National. A little cheaper than Canidae and just as good from what we've been told.

I'm proud to say that AJ stands for my initials (Adam John). I have no shame in saying that I named my dog after myself

So the Purina One for sensative tummies isnt any good for my 13 year old dog? Geesh..... he is so picky I finally found one he will eat....

I recently switched one of my dogs, she has allergy problems, to Dick Van Patten's Natural Balance allergy formula dog food. She is so much better. No more itching and her coat is so soft. She had been on Nature's Receipe allergy formula.
When I run out of Nature's Recipe for the other dogs I will be switching them to D.V.P. Natural Balance also. It is more expensive but it is better for the dogs.
When I think about what I used to feed the dogs years ago it makes me sick.

Natural Balance is a great food and they do sell that at Petco.
