Good answer!
Seriously, I think ragtopW was the one who started calling me Mr Play. I like it better than Five Play and I won't have to change it if we have another baby.

:o OMG! Does she know you are posting that for the BN world to see?!

I'm sure those days are in my near future, though!

Technically no, but she's got some serious talent - I really don't think she'll mind.

So - Who is breastfeeding their babies and who is using formula? Debbie breast-fed our first 2 for a few weeks, then reverted to formula - they drink a lot and it's hard to keep up with the demand. Enfamil is what we used.

Haven't been pregnant since 1982/83. :) Was NOT comfortable with breastfeeding, and because of that, I never did. Enfamil was just fine for me and my son. He was rarely sick (no ear infections) 3 bouts with strep throat, a cold or two, and ate very well. :) Oh, and we 'bonded' just fine.

I breastfed Kyle for a year. I work full-time, so it was hard with the pumping and all, but somehow I got through. I will do the same with this one, as long as it goes as well as it did with Kyle. But I am NOT one of those die hards who thinks breastfeeding is the only way. It has to be what is best for the family or else it will feel more like work than anything else. And Kyle did have formula here and there if needed.
Kyle still had many ear infections and ended up needing tubes by the time he was 9 months old, so we didn't see that benefit really. I just hope this one doesn't have the same ears (I had my tonsils out when I was 5 for chronic ear infections, so I think it was mostly genetics).

I guess at some point I should join in this thread. Peggy had her first ultrasound...everything is good! The little one has hands and feet and stuff. She's still dealing with morning sickness, and the prenatal vitamins aren't helping there. We've decided to name him Q-Bert.

I got sicker too with the prenatal vitamins - I cut them in half and it helped a lot! I am anxious for my next ultrasound but Les informed me that he wants to be surprised AGGHH!!!! I don't know if I can take that. I was surprised because he is such a planner! But I know if I found out I could NOT keep a poker face so I guess I will be surprised too. I am in my 12th week now so I am hoping that I wil not be as sick as I was!

My wife is breastfeeding our girl. She is almost 5 months old. We did the formula as a supplement in the hospital to fill her up. She had jaundice and wasn't getting enough food to allow her to purge the billyrubin from her system. They would not let us take her home until her billy count went into the normal range.

I found that taking my prenatal vitamin at night right before bed helped me to not feel queasy after taking them (or I was just asleep and didn't know I was queasy!). Or she can ask to switch to a different kind. I took a different one this time and I didn't feel sick at all with these. I think mine are called Primacare 1 or something like that. They are purple.

Both my kids were boobie babies for about 2 months. With Victoria, I just switched her right to formula (Enfamil) when I went back to work (at 9 weeks). I wasn't comfortable at all with becoming a dairy farm while I was at work.

With Tony, I tried to keep up when I went back to work and did the whole pumping thing, but the 'lil booger was such a pig I couldn't keep up. So, we switched him to Enfamil as well about 8 weeks in. He started having issues with eczema and stuff, so then we switched him to Enfamil LactoFree when he was about 4 months old and that helped a ton.

Our 6 yr old had (very mild) jaundice when he was born. They sent us home the next day and told us to put him under the skylight for an hour or so a day. That worked for him and it never got more serious than that.

I finally went up in the attic to get the crib and some baby stuff this weekend - 17 boxes of clothes, blankets, and toys :o
It's a good thing we found out about the baby before having the garage sale we'd been planning to have...

OMG! You are so lucky..... I kept nothing but the few favorite outfits for Eric and Emily. I am going to be hitting consignment shops for sure!!! We also are having a dilemma as to where the nursery will go. We thought we would make a room in the attic for my son and make itreally cool - with Nintendo and a computer/tv (kind of like a playroom for all the kids but his room to sleep in) Turns out my son is terrified of being in the attic and can't believe we are going to take away his room for the baby - YIKES!! Marsh and Greg Brady FOUGHT over who was going to get the attic bedroom! I am not sure what to do. There really is no other bedroom for the baby.... I need the TLC crew to come help me out!!!

Well, since the new 'lil booger will probably be in your room at least for a while, maybe once ya fix up the attic to be a cool big-kid room he'll have a change of heart.

Victoria had to give her playroom up when her brother was born and I doubt she'll ever forgive him for it.

I am hoping that happens...... I think he doesn't realize how it won't even feel or look like an attic once we are done. I took over my grandparents attic when I was in college and it was my retreat!
