depends on how you define action on Duval. There is the Scrubtub and escort service on the south end that is about a half-mile from The Casa..

The bars you hear about are a bit further, 1.5-2 miles away from Flagler's baby.

but he has a point.... if you define "action" as M'Ville, Sloppy's, Captain Tony's, Hog's Breath, etc, the Casa is a 30 to 40 minute walk or a cab ride/drive. The Casa is beautiful, has a nice beach, etc, and I like staying there for MOTM, but for a personal trip to KW, it's way too far from Duval unless you plan on driving or spending many dollars on cabs.

If the beach is important to you, the Casa may be the place. If not, there are LOTS of nice guests houses and B&B's much closer to the "action" on Duval for the same or less money.

I believe they have to do some rebuilding of their beach. That may already be done but it took a pretty hard hit from Wilma. Bicycles and scooters can work, too. But, if you're wanting to be close to the bars and nightlife, don't like walking or taking cabs, you should probably look further North.

We stayed there with the keets so it worked out great having the pool and the beach for them. We flew into Ft. Lauderdale so we had a car. We found ourselves heading down (up?) Duval late afternoon, and didn't find parking too much of a problem.
