When I bought me truck this summer, I also looked at the Honda Odyssey. Nice van, but I couldn't see myself driving a minivan....so I bought a Chevy Avalanche and absolutely love it. There is enough room between the 2 car seats in te back to fit an adult comfortably. It's 85% suburban so it can tow whatever a 1500 suburban can.

The 3rd seats in the SUVs are a bad idea in my opinion. Dangerous for kids and uncomfortable for adults.
Good luck in your search.

The third seat in my Suburban is comfy for adults. I have sat back there for 4+ hours on trips. My Dad's Town & Country is a whole lot more cramped than my beast!

For the record, Mrs. Play would be the one driving the minivan...
I'm still trying to decide how big of an issue towing capacity really is. The boat stays in the water and I only haul it out 3-4 times a year. The boat and trailer weigh in at about 8,000 pounds, so it would really take a 3/4 ton Suburbun to pull it well...
