Wednesday morning I'll be arriving in your country! We will be staying in Playa Hermosa for a few days before heading up to Arenal. If you're in the area we could get a drink. Let me know.

We, my fiance and I, live on about 10 acres in the southern pacific side of Costa Rica. Between Dominical (popular surf town to our North) and Pal Mar, a cross roads town to our South.
We also have land in Golfito, further south, near the bay. It is a fishing community and a new $40,000,000 marina is in the plans and will really help to sell the lots we have near there.
We have been to Tamarindo, on our very first trip here actually. It's a popular surf area too. I am NOT a surfer myself.
Have NOT been to Arenal, but know many that have. We'll have to get there some time.
Being a Kansas girl originally, I am LOVING the climate here so much. We quit jobs and moved a year ago this past November. Survived our first rainy season!!!
We're now looking at places in Panama to invest in since it IS indeed the NEW Costa Rica.

Your living the dream a lot of us would love to be living.
Welcome.
My mother was born and raised in Costa Rica and since I was only there when I was 18 months old, I have dreamed of going back to see where my familys plantation was. My Uncle (who was also raised there) and I have talked about a trip back. He and his wife are in the real estate business and have considering investing as well.
The stories I have heard about their youth are amazing and I'd love to see it before the countyside changes even more than it already has.
Good Luck in your ventures!

My friend and I have plans to visit Costa Rica in January....not sure exactly where yet, the planning is just beginning! Her cousin lives there, so we'll be visiting her for a little, then heading to one of the coasts.

I did the Costa Rica thing in '99. Stayed in Tamarindo for six weeks. Was reparing surf boards for Iguana Surf, living in a tent down the road. Best six weeks of y life. Was readying to live that way forever. Then, my buddy who was with me, broke his leg when he fell off a motorcycle. I helped him get back to the States for surgery. And never made it back over. Sometimes it feels, it was only a dream.
