yo alphabet! the lack of merge is infuriating. I thought in 1960 goobers were all into wasting space, not preserving it.rsgeist wrote:That's because most of the on ramps for 309 are leftovers from the 1960's. There is no extended entrance lane to merge from - the on ramp ends at the highway (with lousy visibility, to boot).mings wrote:I've seen both. Drive 309. You'll see it too. I have the same pet peeve Carey.sy wrote:Really? Cripes, I thought everyone in PA thought that yield meant speed up as fast as you could and cut everyone off whether you have room or not. I swear people don't have a clue that if they merge in and hit someone it's actually their fault.carey24 wrote: And we went to PA this weekend.....what is up with STOPPING in the yield lane when getting onto a major highway?!?!?!?!?!? EVERYONE did it. Everyone! I don't get it. "Yield" does not mean "slam on your brakes and come to a dead stop 200 feet before you have to merge".
Then you wouldn't have to let him in, would you?buffettbride wrote:when i'm done spewing...NYCPORT wrote:I've got 3 BMW's will that get ME in???buffettbride wrote:CONGRATS!!mings wrote:

yeah. ok. let's talk about that for just a minute. I got off the NJ turnpike to get gas. And i was driving and driving and driving and driving waiting for a break in the median where it didn't say "No U turn". THANK GOD my buddy who used to be a truck driver called me at that very moment. I told him where I was. He explained the whole "no left / no u-turn" thing. I'd still be driving down that same road if it weren't for him.pirate@43 wrote:Sure you can you just have to go right to make a left.buffettbride wrote: You can't make left turns in New Jersey.
we never found a turny around thing. we finally made three rights!carey24 wrote:yeah. ok. let's talk about that for just a minute. I got off the NJ turnpike to get gas. Do you think they could explain it a little better? Even with him telling me I still had a hard time figuring out the right turny-around things.

OMG BB has been driving behind mebuffettbride wrote:I was going to make this a poll, but I figure there are too many options, but what do you think is the worst kind of car to be stuck behind? Granted, UHauls and other big trucks probably are the worst, but I'm talking about every-day normal cars.
I gotta go with the Subaru station wagons and Volvo station wagons being a close second. It doesn't matter where I am, where I'm driving, but I'm going nowhere fast if I'm stuck behind one of these.
So, how about you?
Yep! You're the one!nutmeg wrote:OMG BB has been driving behind mebuffettbride wrote:I was going to make this a poll, but I figure there are too many options, but what do you think is the worst kind of car to be stuck behind? I have a Subaru Outback. And I drive the speed limit or lower if it's snowingI really don't like to drive and the longest trips I drive on are to see my folks--1 1/2 hours each way which I did today. Got behind a log truck...which I really hate!
Since it was a bit snowy today, I had food, water, blankets, shovel, phone and plenty of Jimmy cd's in the car.Part of the area I drive through to reach their home has no cell service and no houses or businesses (or anything but woods) around for miles and miles....

so let me guess, you're not one for spontaenous road trips? Especially, not with those items - there's nothing spontaneous about them.nutmeg wrote:OMG BB has been driving behind mebuffettbride wrote:I was going to make this a poll, but I figure there are too many options, but what do you think is the worst kind of car to be stuck behind? Spontaneous can be deadly here in Michigan when traveling roads where you won't be found for a long time if something goes wrong....
