I had my first expereince with the Michigan "u-turn", I'm sure Nutmeg could give you a better description that I could.

Man, if you're talking about the western part of the state where the never let you turn left, that is major league annoying.

Luckily, it isn't common in the rest of the state. I hate having to make a u-turn when I just want to turn left

Mings dangerous = fun? Most of my experiences with danger have been anyting but....but whatever floats your boat.

Being stranded in a snow bank 30 miles from anywhere without any food, water or blankets really doesn't enter my fun radar screen

not necessarily. What I'm saying is that everything we did before we did it was safe then what would the adventure be in our lives? What would set us apart from each other? the chance for something to happen and subsequently how you deal with it is character building. I'm not saying that I will jump out of a plan without a parachute and see if I can survive, but rather I'd up and go on a roadtrip and "figure things out along the way". Who cares if its not all planned out? Who cares if everything isn't thought of? Not me. Theres the fun.... in living the experience.

I see your point, but I think I was much more able to enjoy my "adventure" driving through the woods on snowy roads knowing that I was prepared if anything went wrong.

I'm not completely without a sense of adventure. I've ridden in a DC3 to a spot in the jungle where there were no roads...but given a chance to prepare for emergencies....I usually do....It's just my nature...
