It'd be between Barometer Soup and Fruitcakes for me.

Normally I'd pick Fruitcakes, but I feel a little Barometer Soupish today.

So do that.

Why buy just one? Go to a place like Tower Records you can probably get them for $8-10 each, I bet even best buy or circuit city has em cheap.

Soup is one of my favorites...

BUT....I would go to eBay and buy all three from the same seller... They are never more than $6 and with combined shipping.... you get 1.5 free!

I'd sooner suggest something from his early years but if our choices are limited to those three I'd suggest the following (listed in the order of my favorites out of my preferences):

Fruitcakes
Beach House on the Moon
Barometer Soup

cd

If you're going to use "finupbarefootchildren" as a user name, I would say your best bet is to get Barometer Soup, the cd that has "Barefoot Children" on it. :D

I'd go with Beach House on the Moon...

Even though it has probably one of JB's worst songs on it (Math Suks), I really like the title track, Permanent Reminder of a Temporary Feeling, Semi-true Story and I Don't Know and I Don't Care

Actually, I wouldn't choose just one, I'd buy all 3 :D

If you don't have everything released prior to 'Riddles In The Sand" the answer is non of the above.

My vote is Fruitcakes. Although all three are good and have great songs on each - Lone Palm, Barefoot Children and Pacing the Cage are three songs on my self made "songs you dont know by heart but should" CD.

All are great choices, but if I could only have ONE of those three, I'd choose Barometer Soup just for "Remittance Man."

There's actually a recipe for Image
Barometer Soup
1 mango (diced)
1 cup oil
1 lb backfin crab meat
16 ounces dried split peas
1 green pepper
1 red pepper
1 yellow pepper
2 plantains
1 cup crab base
1 gallon water
1/2 cup caribbean jerk seasoning
1 red onion (Bermuda)
cornstarch, to thicken (about 1 cup diluted in water)

1 hour 30 minutes

Dice all vegetables & fruits.
In a large pot, saute vegetables in 1 cup oil.
Add remaining ingredients, bring to a boil and reduce heat to a simmer.
Simmer about 1.5 hours.
Thicken with cornstarch diluted in water to the consistency you like.
[The recipe is for a party sized pot (serves about 12-16)].

I actually have Barometer Soup and Fruitcakes in my truck right now.

Go with Fruitcakes. Of course, I like all three.
