Lakewood, Atlanta

I heard a rumor and have been looking for info on the Lakewood fairgrounds in Atlanta, the prefered location for tropical based concerts, should a certain entertainer decide to play this town. Seems the City of Atlanta has bought the 117 acre site and has plans to do major renovations starting this summer. I found one announcement that they plan on leaving the ampitheater but the rest is to be torn down for development. I'm wondering how this might impact concerts and the decision to play Atlanta.
