Where is the Amish Jihad? I thought they were going to be part of this year's lineup too.

I give them credit: there's a little something there for everybody. Wish I could go, but I've got a two week old daughter at home that says my concert budget will now be converted to a diaper fund.

It sure is more diverse this year.
I like the addition of Buddy Guy and Bonnie Raitt, but the powerhouse guys of jam rock are not there. Ie, Trey and Umphrey's and the like. Very glad to see Rusted Root added to the line up this year. I am sure many more bands will be added as well. A little bit more main stream this year, but still plenty of great smaller acts.
It will be interesting to see the stages and times. Who will play the midnight shows and such.

I'm personally glad to see it expand beyond the realm of just jam bands in recent years. I know my listening habits aren't confined to just one artist or style of music, so it's good to see fests like this and the Austin City Limits Music Festival reflect that.

I agree with ya. I am actually thinking of going to the Austin Fest. The fest being in a city is much more appealing to me. I can shower and sleep on a bed, not to mention get some good food.
I know the whole part of Bonaroo is that it is out in the middle of where Christ lost his shoes, but Tenn. in the summer and sitting in a car for hours on end just trying to get into the parking area is not a bunch of fun.

I agree. I have some friends that attended Bonnaroo every year since it's inception but quit going in recent years. Some of us just aren't as old as we used to be.
Hope you enjoy ACL Fest, every time I've been I had a very nice time. SXSW (held in March) is a lot of fun too but a lot more taxing since there's over 1,000 bands to see in just 5 very short days.

Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers; Elvis Costello & the Imposters; Bonnie Raitt; Buddy Guy; Steve Earle; Blues Traveler;
Outta those I would really probably only wanna see 2 or 3.
Then not showering for a few days----Give me a Vegas Vacation again instead please.

That's cool - my personal favorites would be Tom Petty / Buddy Guy / and / or Elvis Costello, but when I went to the bonnaroo web site I could not click on Elvis... ???

A big part of the beauty of these kinds of festivals (at least to me) is discovering new artists. I know a lot of times I end up listening to some bands I never intended to see and getting turned on to some new stuff in the process.

Still no showers in the middle of at least 20,000 hippies who havent showered since Jerry Garcia died almost 11 years ago.

If you ever have an opportunity to see Robert Randolph and the Family Band, don't let it pass you by. They are fantastic.
