My two cents on Maui.....
I was at the show, and the show was awesome. The venue, small, cozy, easy to get in, easy to get a drink. Heck...you are in Maui!
I did have a couple of wierd experiences. I arrived three hours early to the consternation of my (at the time) Mexico City based girlfriend, who was not a big parrothead. Alas, I was pretty much alone in the lot...no one was tailgating.
Second, during the show, I tried to stand as you do at a Buffett concert during many of the songs, and people were complainingf or me to sit down. This was the first Buffett show I have been at where most people sat the whole time.
Otherwise...I agree with your opinion on Maui!

While you guys were getting the shaft at Senora Emmas, we had discovered that they had a nice selection of ultra premium Tequilas. The trashed bartender didn't know the price so we suggested $6.00 is the usual. (He was pouring us $12 tequila) They ran out and had to get more. Eventually he just poured me a 10 oz glass of Milagro Anejo and charged me $10.00 and gave us somebody elses bucket of Pacificos.
It's all about perspective.

We had some of the same experiences....though, we went to the AWhaleshark's preparty in Lahaina and took a bus to the show so the preparty was quite fun..... We actually had a guy behind us tell us to sit down...HA! Like that's gonna happen...! He complained to the security guy who then came up to us and asked us how we were doin'. We said we were havin' fun! He said Cool! He then told us about the complain and that the guy had asked him to come talk to us...So he said..This is me talkin' to ya...Cool guy.
The other wierd experience was that so many people were sitting down that Jimmy actually had to tell them to get up and dance and get some energy goin'....
Well ya can't really blame them....afterall a lot of the locals that showed up were retires and didn't have a clue as to the Parrothead phenom....
