Turning Around
Does anyone know if the Jimmy Buffett song "Turning Around", from the movie Summer Rental, is available on a Jimmy Buffett CD or a soundtrack?
Re: Turning Around
No, it's not but I do believe it's made it's way onto some homemade Buffet rarities CDs out there.Mossmann wrote:Does anyone know if the Jimmy Buffett song "Turning Around", from the movie Summer Rental, is available on a Jimmy Buffett CD or a soundtrack?

You can find it over at Jimmy Dreamz ( http://www.jimmydreamz.com/audio.html ) and I think over at CoBO ( http://www.cobo.org/index.php ) in the vault if your registered.
But if I recall they are files that are from the old Napster and are no way CD quality. Sort of surprised no one has put up a better quality version recently.
My suggestion is buy the DVD 'Summer Rental' and download a shareware DVD ripper and rip the audio. The soundtrack is out of print.
Hope that helps. I do like the song and the movie.

TURNING AROUND
by Buffett and friends
Verse 1
D G A D
Sometimes I feel like a propeller, Spin, Spin out of control.
Bm F#m G A
I don't know who's on the throttle. Oh I wished they'ld just let go.
D G A D
And all I ever do is get dizzy. Thinking, Thinking things left undone.
Bm F#m G A
Been stuck here so long down on zero, I'ld just wish I'ld make it to one.
Chorus
D run * (see the bottom)
Turning around
D run
Heroes and clowns
G A D run
Holding my ground, oh I've been down, turning around
Bm F#m
Turning around, lose till I'm found
G A D run
Holding my ground, oh I've been down, turning around.
Sometime I get lost in my daydreams, Sleep sleep my life away.
I know in my heart I'm a sailor, and my ship is on the way.
There never is an end to bellievers, looking looking for the right sign.
If everything will just keep on turning, all that I want will be mine.
Turning around, heroes and clowns,
holding my ground, oh I've been down, turning around.
Turning around, lost till I'm found.
Holding my ground, oh I've been down, turning around.
Repeat chorus
D run: just play a D and alternate 3-2-0 on the e -string until it sounds
right.

That's right up there with the chances of "Don't Bug Me" from Arachnophobia meeting the same fate.nomad wrote:I bet he'll throw it on a live cd one day like Spicoli's Theme.
I'd rather see a new box set that actually included such rarities as some of his soundtrack/compilation songs as well as true rarities such as "Please Take Your Drunken 15 Year Old Girlfriend Home" and "Abandoned On Monday" the likes of which were completely absent from Boats, Beaches, Bars & Ballads.

That probably is the reason all the copies floating around don't sound that great.sonofabeach wrote:I rented the dvd and copied the song but it seems like it's not in stereo.
I ran it through my mixer and added a little more treble and it's sounds better.
