What's odd is that there is no Ikea here - something that would do amazingly well. I guess they haven't figured out how to make it work. They'd need a huge warehouse, and even then it'd be a headache.ToplessRideFL wrote:That is just too funny..... It's disposable. In a city of temporary housing and transient residents, their furniture would definitely work well. Their loss.buffettbride wrote:I can't figure out if Ikea is cool or not. I mean, some of the stuff seems nifty, but is it crap?

I have a dresser at my house in Philly and it's literally falling apart, but I've beat it up for over 10 years. I'd say that Ikea crap lasts about 3 years before it needs replacing.buffettbride wrote:Ahhh. I see. Makes sense why it's affordable.mings wrote:It's disposable. Ok. there's 2, but no one in NYC has a car. There's one on Long Island and another in Jersey. The other thing is, that their stuff, even though it's not assembled, is heavy because it's all glued flakeboard and partical board so even if you got there by bus or whatever you're not going to lug a big box with a shelf or nightstand around the city.iuparrothead wrote:But there's Ikea in the suburbs, right? Crack Hos can't be that expensive, can they? It's not like there is a dearth of them in the NYC market or anything..mings wrote:Ok.
