yea I knew that was in the works...the administration is not happy with the idea....Guilford is a good school but their student tend to ummmm a lil diffferent...political activists, One of their students was arrested last sping for sneaking box cutters on an airplane as a way to protest and show that airlines were not really safe yet.....A bunch were arrested on tuesday...they were protesting during the State of the Union address and did something to get arrested...their students are known to PUSH the envelope

I don't see the big deal. The old way is assuming no one is gay or lesb. If they are, then you are condoning sex by putting them together.
Course we are dealing with administrators the age of my friend's parents, who think that a friend "made him gay".

Guilford is stuck in a time warp. I have been on the campus several times the past couple of years. It is very.... ummmmmmmmm... UNIQUE.
If you know anybody that ever wanted to know what college was like in the late 60's, with Peace,Love, and Protesters, check out Guilford.

actually most of the adminstrators at Guilford are in their early 30s.....most of your student development staff at college (especially in residence life becasue it is considered a stepping stone in student affairs) are typically young
the biggest problem with it is that most college residence halls still have the "hall bathrooms" format...that which is shared by an entire floor. It could be a logistical nightmare to house those students that prefer gender blind and making sure they all are in the same hall so that all students are comfortable when they go to a bathroom...it not really about the SEX anymore then it is about what is logistically possible

BJU is shorthand for Bob Jones University.
They could stand a little "trapped in the 1960s" there. It would be about 90 years ahead of their time.

My Daughter went to a College where there was one all male and one all female dorm. All other residences were mixed and it all works fine.sunseeker wrote:I work in Student affairs at another small collegecarey24 wrote:I don't see the big deal. The only "gender specific" rest rooms are in the public spaces (theartre, gym, library and the like).

All the dorms I stayed in were coed floors. We had a men's and a ladies' bathroom on each floor.J.LeP wrote:My Daughter went to a College where there was one all male and one all female dorm. It was an ecology thing. Less grey water by showering with your friends.sunseeker wrote:rednekkPH wrote:All the dorms I stayed in were coed floors.
