From Billboard.com "Buffett's Summer: Album, Soundtrack But No Tour"
http://billboard.com/bbcom/news/article ... 1001956679

Chief Parrothead and summer touring perennial Jimmy Buffett told his Radio Margaritaville listeners yesterday (Feb. 1) that he's planning to take the summer off this year.

"I'm kinda taking it easy now," he said in a conversation with Radio Margaritaville DJ Miles Hampton. "It's the last summer with my kids before they go off to boarding school, so I'm gonna travel with them and work the spring and the fall. I don't want to do much right now," he added with a laugh.

I'm not sure why people are getting all worked up about Jimmy "taking the summer off" and not touring.... He's taken most of the summer off for the last few years......

Granted, he's cutting back, but he's still planning on touring at least *some*

I know what you mean but this article is just reporting what is obviously "old" news around these parts already. For some, this will be the first they've heard of it.

Very interesting article...

I do like the part that says:

...he reported that he's "firming up a few dates" for a spring tour, most of which are rumored to be in the southeast...

Southeast, yes!

If he were to take a summer "Off", I'd prefer it be this one....with my trip to Scotland, and the opening of the new restaurant, I don't know if I'd be making it anyway....

Good ole' Jimmy....always looking out for me.

I remember the last time he mentioned taking the summer off. It really only amounted to July off. He had some shows in Early June and Late August. I think we can handle it! :P
