The New Dillon Aero M134D was introduced to the public today. It's been in the works for a while.

Fires 3,000 rounds a minute......

Harvest and process your kill in about a minute!

Not ethical for hunting, but it'd work wonders on tresspassers.

I had the local newspaper on my table at work today and one of my student's saw the pic and told me: "I have that gun at home. But ours is red and black and silver. And it shoots shiny tipped bullets." :-?

I don't doubt that there are guns in the home. My concern is that I doubt they are locked up and I'd be willing to bet the kids have never been thru a gun safety course. This kid isn't the brightest crayon in the box...I'm guessing that most calibers are higher than his IQ.

I wonder if that will become standard equipment in areas that have a lot of road rage or car jackings.....

Both the 25.06 and the 6mm are nice. I don't know about there but ammo can be somewhat difficult to find at times....at least in this area. The .243 Winchester is common and easy to find and is not that much different from the 6mm. If you don't have a .270 Win thhen I highly suggest taking a look at it.
Do you want a short or long action on the new rifle? Or does it matter to you?

The NRA has a program called "Eddie Eagle" that is free and they can come into schools if invited or allowed to. It teaches children what to do if they find a firearm, what to do with it, and how to be safe around them and that sort of stuff. It does not train them in marksmanship or how to use a weapon. It is just a firearm safety course designed for children is all it is...Maybe it could be worth looking into.....

The only gun safety these kids have is trying to survive. We're right in the middle of the two major gang 'hoods. Each day that one of our kids hasn't been killed is a good day. :-?

As long as you roll your own and get bullets it is GREAT... There is a Swiss caliber that is pretty neet to I think it is something like a 6.5mmx57 or a 6.7mmx57. something like that. I can't remember it exactly.

Yeah the 30.06 is pretty much an everything on the North American Continent caliber. As the the .308. I conskder the .270 to be pretty much a do everything caliber ( within reason and the same limitations applied I might prefer another caliber in a certain situation but if it is all that I have and the proper bullet, I have no probs wiith using it.)
The .308 Win, the .270 Win, the 25.06, the .243 Win, are all more or less wildcats derived from the 30.06. There are many others out there that have can lay claim 30.06 in their lineage. The .243 Win is a necked down .308 Win. The 6mm and and the .243 are ballistically very close but I think the 6mm has the overall edge ballistically. I had a friend that had one and loved and would not hesitate to shoot out to 400 yards with it and get meat.

One thing you need to think about is the bolt throw .... there is a difference in a long bolt and a short bolt throw and some people that makes a HEAP of a difference. It can also make the world of difference if time matters with a quicker folllow up second shot. Again that difference in time may not matter or be of concern to you. You may want to look at some of the various synthetic stocks that are out there as well.
Happy Shooting!!!

BUMMER!!! I forgot about that being "The Granola State" Sadly they could save at least a few lives if they got their collective heads out of their lower posterior between thier glutes. Yet they refuse to do so...
Firearm safe handling and safety courses are in the best interest of everyone's ( as you well know) safety. So what happens when a kid brings a firearm to a teacher or an adult that has no clue about how to handle it...they blame the firearm. A firearm is only as good or bad as the person behind it. But I am sure you know that too.

Stay safe and seriously have you considered a kevlar or other type vest to wear?
