BTW my next hunting rifle is most likely to go smaller...
a 6 mm or a 25.06
Because Browning needs more money..
I had the local newspaper on my table at work today and one of my student's saw the pic and told me: "I have that gun at home. But ours is red and black and silver. And it shoots shiny tipped bullets."~ Parrot Bay ~ wrote:The New Dillon Aero M134D was introduced to the public today. It's been in the works for a while.

The NRA has a program called "Eddie Eagle" that is free and they can come into schools if invited or allowed to. It teaches children what to do if they find a firearm, what to do with it, and how to be safe around them and that sort of stuff. It does not train them in marksmanship or how to use a weapon. It is just a firearm safety course designed for children is all it is...Maybe it could be worth looking into.....Brown Eyed Girl wrote:I had the local newspaper on my table at work today and one of my student's saw the pic and told me: "I have that gun at home. I don't doubt that there are guns in the home. My concern is that I doubt they are locked up and I'd be willing to bet the kids have never been thru a gun safety course. This kid isn't the brightest crayon in the box...I'm guessing that most calibers are higher than his IQ.

Both the 25.06 and the 6mm are nice. I don't know about there but ammo can be somewhat difficult to find at times....at least in this area. The .243 Winchester is common and easy to find and is not that much different from the 6mm. If you don't have a .270 Win thhen I highly suggest taking a look at it.
Do you want a short or long action on the new rifle? Or does it matter to you?
As long as you roll your own and get bullets it is GREAT... There is a Swiss caliber that is pretty neet to I think it is something like a 6.5mmx57 or a 6.7mmx57. something like that. I can't remember it exactly.ragtopW wrote:Sam wrote:I wonder if that will become standard equipment in areas that have a lot of road rage or car jackings.....

A .243 is another Idea, I will mostly hunt Pronghorns in Wyoming
I have a 30.06 and the .270 isn't that far off..
By the time I get a new rifle I will be set up to Roll my own..
BUMMER!!! I forgot about that being "The Granola State" Sadly they could save at least a few lives if they got their collective heads out of their lower posterior between thier glutes. Yet they refuse to do so...Brown Eyed Girl wrote:Sam, I know all about Eddie the Eagle.
Trust me, it ain't gonna happen in Cali schools.
