Can ya'll help me with some info on Islamorada
Where to stay, what to do, nightlife etc.....
We are going down as a group to do a fishing charter, but some are bringing there familes. So would 17-19 year olds have fun....is there a nightlife for them as well as it is there spring break.
How far from Key West?
Any other help would be greatly appreciated!

First of all, welcome!
Check the "Changes in Latitude" forum or do a search for Islamorada.
Can't help you much. All I did was eat lunch there on the drive down to KW. It's probably about 1-1.5 hours from KW (seemed longer for me-rental had no CD=no JB

).

Here's a good place to stay, called Coconut Cove. We stayed here last year on our way to Key West. It's about 1.5 hours to Key West.

What I liked the most about this place is they have efficiency cottages and a new "hotel-like" building. I stayed in both and prefer the cottages. Great pool. Awesome, HUGE Tiki Hut, nice beach and boat ramp. Honestly, if it weren't for MoTM, I would have stayed here instead going to KW.
There's a ton to do around here for all ages. You may want to download Capt. Ron's guide to the Keys.

The Lorelei is one of my favorite places

They got hit hard by Wilma last year but it looks like they have a Feb 06 entertainment schedule so they must be back in business.

Hi....check out Holiday Isles Resort...they have several bar areas and is a real "happening" place. They have two other properties bordering it so you can put some distance from all the partying and still stumble home, lots of vollyball, pools, and even a sanbar you can swim out to and party. Good food and live music......even ran into "Bubba" in the early 90's there!

In 1991, we stayed at The Islander and it was nice. My son was a baby, we took FIL along to babysit when we needed a Mommy/Daddy evening. It was nice and I was about 20 years old and there was still a lot to do. HOPEFULLY times haven't changed that much and it will be a great trip.
ENJOY!
Holiday Isle had this shaggy haired man played a stringed instrument...IT WAS TINY TIM!!!!

Not a place for families then, and especialy now that it is a strip bar. Still never stoped me and my fishing buddies.

Watch out for "The man"

Whatever you do, please be careful about Drinking and Driving. Islamorada is watched closely at night and the low speeds make it easier to spot drunks. Take a cab. You will save a lot of heartache and money!
