Most of our local guys have at least one song...

Sonny Russell - If Jimmy Buffett Ever Gets Ahold of One of My Songs

Brian Turner - Parrothead Beach

Leo Dean - Buffett 4 a Day and If Jimmy Buffett Ruled the World

and you have to watch out for that Boat Drunks CD... mine is STUCK in my
car player and for some reason I can never get it out (or skip it either)

I had that same problem with my car CD player a few years ago. I finally had to have it fixed.

We're talking about a CD getting stuck in the player, not ...
And why you didn't tell me you'd been fixed?
:-?

From the samples on their site the Boat Drunks sound pretty good.
Too bad they're sold out

I'm not sure if it was already mentioned of or not, but the second track on The Offspring's Ixnay On The Hombre mentions Jimmy Buffett... the name of the song is eluding me though!!!

Thursday Afternoon at the Conch House Lounge by Jim Morris.

To the man who was playing guitar.

Third Coast by Larry Joe Taylor -

"He said I left California back in seventy-six
The music died with Jimi Hendrix
And things got crazy in San Francisco.
But tumbin' 'cross the country - man, I thought I would freeze
So I followed Buffett to the Floriday Keys..."

Mota!

Everyday, well it's the same
That bong that's on the table starts to call
My name
I take a hit and zone out again
I'll be paranoid and hungry by a quarter to ten
Watching reruns on my TV
I'm laughing off my ass at Three's Company
I don't know if I'm understood
Buy hearing Jimmy Buffett never sounded so good
Your memory's gone and so is your life (your life)
Mota Boy
But losing out just never felt so right
Your enemy's you and so is your life (your life)
Mota Boy
But losing out might feel okay all night
Mota!
I'm driving down to the barrio
Going 15 miles an hour cause I'm already stoned
Give the guy a twenty and wait in the car
He tosses me a baggie then he runs real far
I take a hit but it smells like a clove
Oh ***** I got a baggie of oregano
This ritual is destroying me
But I guess it could be worse
It could be methedrine
Your memory's gone and so is your life (your life)
Mota Boy
But losing out just never felt so right
Your enemy's you and your couch is your life
(Your Life)
Mota Boy
But losing out might take
Losing out might take you all night
Mota!
Losing out might feel okay all night
Yeah losing out might feel okay all life

Have you guys forgotten "It's Just Me", by The Whaleshark?

On my left the drum machine musicians
Going through the motions and getting paid
Severly screwing up, my favorite Jimmy Buffett song
Thinking thats the way it should be played

Allen Toussaint "Hang with Jimmy Buffett" and Jim Morris when he does "Rock Star School" at a show often sings, "Jimmy Buffett's pi$$ed 'cause he can't get in."
