I heard he was going to pitch today, but he's got that lingering paper clip when he signed the $40 million contract so they scratched him from the start.
I don't know what the Yankees where thinking when they gave him that contract. Even with his 18-8 record in 2004 he has a losing record for his career. And most women have more balls than he does.

Your guess is as good as mine.

Easily the worst move Cashman ever made.

most of the time you don't beat the Yankees...the Yankees beat the Yankees. Yet against they smashed the competition, themselves.

Start crying yanks and national media cant wait to hear the excuses.

I'll be in Centerfield tomorrow just giving Turncoat boy all he can stand. The Yanks dont know whats coming for them, 19 years of pent up aggression fueled by a fanbase that's second to none when in comes to pre-game tailgate drink'n.

Most bars will be pack tommorrow by three. Hopefully noone burns out friday night if we win so we can raise hell saturday.

The Tigers had the best record in baseball for a good part of the season until they remembered they were the Tigers. The Yankees should start crying and making excuses if they don't win this series.

If the Yankees end up losing, it will be due to their middle relief. NOT an excuse, it's a FACT.
A-Rod can strike out all he friggin' wants to-if the game stays in the hands of the starting pitchers or Mariano Riviera, they'll have a chance.
But as soon as the middle relievers (namely Meyers and Farnsworth) come in, it's over. The rest of the bullpen (other than Riviera) is nothing to write home about either, but those two clowns are the WORST.
HELL, the CUBS didn't want Farnsworth-what does THAT tell you?

That's true but A-Rod striking out with the bases loaded doesn't do well for his image that he chokes in clutch situations. I think the only reason why he chokes during that situation is that he is trying too hard to prove that he doesn't so it is sort of that self-fulfilling prophecies.

Before I get slammed for saying this because I am a Red Sox fan, all I am saying is that if Sports Illustrated (and I think the New York media) has noticed this then there may be something about it.

You are correct Wino, that and the fact that at times (like Thursday) the Tigers Bullpen has been awesome!!!

Hey, by the way, where's the San Diego slappys who were hammering the Cardinals for "backing into" the playoffs???!!!  The bottom line is that in any sport, once the regular season is over and the playoffs start it INDEED is a new season and anything can happen!!

I think you're EXACTLY right. (From a Yankee fan).

Everybody's noticed it. I think the REAL Yankee fans do want him to do well, but are getting pretty damn frustrated. All those home runs and big power numbers are nice, but it doesn't do much good to hit a home run when your team is 20 runs ahead or 20 runs behind.
I guess we'll see by the end of the weekend.

I've been saying that for 40-plus years.

If you include 2001, wasn't Arizona the NL West champions?
