Bochy did get permission from Sandy Alderson to talk to SF... and anyone else! :o
If that doesn't say "lame duck", I don't know what does?

I can't help but think that Washington wouldn't be a good fit for Boch.
He grew up going to Senators games

Thanks Penny!!!!..Congrats to the Cards..I thought that catch was going to be a momentum changer.........gotta hit in the clutch....2 & 3 1 out....even a sac fly gets the run in......I can't blame Beltran....he had a good series......my only thing is ....this guy was throwing nothing but curve balls......gotta be sitting on that pitch!!!!!.............and to have a guy that hit .216 and 5 hrs all season beat you........shouldn't happen!!!..........The big worry going into the playoffs was the lack of starting pitching......i thought they looked great........what we had was the lack of hitting!!!

god with the Dolphins already done .......its going to be a long winter........thank god foe UCONN basketball!!!!

done venting!!!!

How can they be so flat in the biggest game of the year? Two hits in the 1st inning and not another hit until the 9th. The whole team came up small, except Oliver Perez. He just earned himself a spot in the starting rotation next year.

In my opinion the Mets lost this series in the second game when the bullpen blew the lead and Wagner started throwing batting practice in the 9th inning. It would have been a different series if they had gone to St. Louis up 2-0 instead of tied 1-1. They held the Cardinals big guns - Pujols, Edmonds and Rolen - in check. You can't let guys like Scott Spezio, So Taguchi and Yadier Molina beat you.

What do you expect from the NL, it's like AAAA ball. In the AL alone there were 8 teams with a better record that St. Louis.

The Yankees have Aaron Boone now the Mets have Aaron Heilman....

6th inning, bases loaded, 1 out - Valentin, strike out, Chavez, pop up
9th inning, bases loaded, 2 outs - Beltran, strike out
Reyes, 0-5
LoDuca, 0-4

Those guys were as much to blame for the loss as Heilman.

Sorry for your disappointment today, Larry :(

You just can't get to the dance without some timely, clutch hitting,
and, boy, in SD, don't I know it! :(

I'm not gonna vent, not gonna make excuses....Bottom line, Mets should of won the series. They didn't execute! They Lost..

Hopefully the future is bright for the Mets...And I think it is. Perez showed that he can be a Big League pitcher.

I agree. I don't think there will be a "goat" from this series.

I also think Randolph out thought himself in the 9th inning. Why not bring Wagner in to start the inning? Forget about saving the game, save the season. Then with 2 on and no outs in the bottom of the 9th why not send someone up to bunt? Put more pressure on Scott Rolon who was struggling the last 2 games. You get two runners in scoring position with a pitcher who throws so many breaking pitches maybe he will bounce on to the back stop.

Wagner's ERA for the series was 16.88. Maybe Willie Randolph got chills down his spine at the thought of using him.

So if the Mets had a one run lead would have brought him in?

He probably would have because that's what "the book" says you should do. I think he made the right call leaving Heilman in the game.
