Man oh man, what a game.
6th inning was the turning point of the series, IMHO. Rolen gets robbed by a stunning defensive play, then throws a ball into the cheap seats.
Right then, the hopes of the entire Cardinals nation fell on Suppan. Talk about gutty. Just reached down deep and saved the season.
Wainwright also gave himself a (self-administered) gut-check in the 9th, but Suppan was still the man of the hour.
Great game... hope the WS isn't a letdown.
Go Cards!

It wasn't mean, but I'll never tease Red Sox fans about Bucky Dent or Aaron Boone ever again.

Know what you mean. As a Royals-first (then Cardinals) fan, I'm continually being reminded of Don Denkinger and 1985.
Ain't gonna say a mean thing about Bucky Dent, or Aaron Boone, or Joaquin Andujar, or Carlos Beltran, or anybody else.
'Tis not for me to throw stones when I'm still living in the 1985 World Series glass house.

I agree. I don't think there will be a "goat" from this series.
I also think Randolph out thought himself in the 9th inning. Why not bring Wagner in to start the inning? Forget about saving the game, save the season. Then with 2 on and no outs in the bottom of the 9th why not send someone up to bunt? Put more pressure on Scott Rolon who was struggling the last 2 games. You get two runners in scoring position with a pitcher who throws so many breaking pitches maybe he will bounce on to the back stop.
you can't bring wagner in in that situation....with the possibility of extra innings and his spot coming up in the bottom of the 9th....also you can't compare the 2 leagues ...one has the DH and the other playes the game iike it was intented to be........records would be a lot different in the AL without the DH......and managers would actually have to think!!!...not a fan of the DH if you couln't tell!!!

I think you still bring Wagner in, he is their best reliever and you need the save the season. Worry about the bottom of the inning when it happens. It's game 7, every pitch is crucial and you should have you best out there at the end. As it turned out had they brought him in Wagner would have came up with 2 on and no one out, a perfect spot to bunt.
In interleague play the AL dominated the NL in both AL and NL ballparks. Including the every All Star game since ??? The last NL pitcher to WIN a World Series game?.....

then you would end up with the La Russification of both leagues.. use a pitcher against one batter, then swap him out for the next guy.

I can only speak for the Red Sox this season. They played the Mets, Phillies and Nationals at home and went 9-0 they played @ Florida, Atlanta and Philly and went 7-2.
In the NL SF and Col were the only teams above .500 in interleague play this season.
I am rooting for the Cardinals in the series but i just can't see how they even win 1 game.

I'm rooting for the Cardinals...even though I live in Texas, the first Major League game I ever went to was a Cardinals game in St. Louis with my Uncle (who still lives in the area) and my Father (now deceased).
My son now plays for a YMCA team named the Cardinals.

That was a truly uninspired performance by the Tigers tonight
I'm blaming the week off. They'd better tighten up their act Sunday, can't go to St. Louis down 0-2.
