On that same vein....
Chris Shelton is also on pace for 324 HR's
Hideki Matsui is on pace to have 648 hits this year
ARod is on pace for 810 RBI
Barry Bonds won't hit another HR, but will find 162 syringes on the field.
The Marlins won't score a run all year
And Barry Zito is on pace to really s***.

and we are now tied with the Cubs . Bring on those blasted Pirates, the Reds will sink their ships.
I had to keep reminding them that the Cubs scored 16 runs on opening day LAST YEAR, too....and still finished behind the Brewers in the standings.

JR has a big stick, even if does not want to get caught up in his HR power. I remember watching the game when SR first played his first game for the Reds. Think he stated at 3B?CaptainP wrote:Ken Griffey Jr. has now passed Mickey Mantle for 12th on the all-time HR list.
He's never been accused of using steroids, and if he could've stayed healthy, he'd have close to 700 HRs already.

Ken Griffey Jr. passed Mickey Mantle with his 537th career homer Wednesday, taking over sole possession of 12th place on the career list.
The solo homer also gave Griffey 1,538 career RBI, breaking his tie with Joe DiMaggio for 31st on the career list. It was his lone hit of the game
On a personal note , I really am glad that he has stayed in Cincy even though many of the fans have been rough on him through the years.

Growing up I was an Oakland A’s fan. Then after two strikes, the DH in the AL and moving around the state a few times I ended up back in NO CAL. Started watching Giants games on Fox Sports West and really enjoyed the broad casting team of Duane Kuiper and Mike Krukow. Kruk played for the Cubbies back in the day. Long story made short, became an SF fan because these guys make baseball fun and have great insight into the game Thought you might enjoy the this story;
