Caution: Drink in Progress!

Hi folks,

So I rummaged through my bar today, trying to finish off some bottles that were nearly empty, and hoping to concoct something that would help me forget it's winter. Here's what I came up with (still in progress, and so far unnamed):

Untitled Drink

1 1/2 oz. Southern Comfort
1 oz. Peach Schnapps
1 oz. orange juice
6 oz. cranberry juice
wedge of lime

Fill a highball glass half full with ice. Add first four ingredients, stir to mix. Squeeze wedge of lime and drop into glass.

Tasty! It's a little on the sour side (according to my wife), because of the cranberry juice, but the orange juice softens it a little.

If anyone tries it, and has suggestions, or can come up with a good name (I'm thinking something Georgia related, because of the Southern Comfort and the peaches?), let's hear from you.

By the way, I tried lowering the cranberry juice from 6 oz. to 4oz., and increasing the orange juice from 1 oz. to 3 oz. - but it ends up tasting a little too much like a fuzzy navel.

That sounds pretty good.
There's a related drink called DIRTY BATH WATER: Southern Comfort, cranberry juice and lime juice.
Maybe you could go somewhere with that name as a starting place.

There's also a RED WRECK: Southern Comfort, Peach Schnapps, Lime and Cranberry Juice, topped with Red Bull.

Plus a slew of 'Beach' drinks that have Peach Schnapps, Orange Juice, and Cranberry Juice in them.

Thanks for the tips, bravedave!

Update: I tried 5 oz cranberry and 2 oz orange juice and, to my taste at least, it wasn't as good as the original combination. So far, the recipe as posted is still the best...

That did cross my mind... but it's a little heavy on the cranberry. Do they grow cranberries in Georgia??

I'll have to try a drop or two of grenadine, that should sweeten it just enough without overdoing it. Thanks for the idea!

It still needs a name... maybe Devil Went Down to Georgia? (After all, it IS kind of an infernal color!) ;)
