Sail on, Peter Benchley....

NEW YORK (AP) -- Peter Benchley, whose novel "Jaws" terrorized millions of swimmers even as the author himself became an advocate for the conservation of sharks, has died at age 65, his widow said Sunday.
Wendy Benchley, married to the author for 41 years, said he died Saturday night at their home in Princeton, New Jersey. The cause of death, she said, was idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, a progressive and a fatal scarring of the lungs.
Sail on, wonderful author..... you will be missed....

You definitely created something that few authors ever think of aspiring to reach. In ways you wished you hadn't, I really do believe. However you did make a change in the world, for better or for worse....you brought it about.

Aw, I watched The Deep on DVD Saturday afternoon. That night my wife told me Peter Benchley was dead. Sad. Awesome movie, and he cowrote the screenplay.
