Jake will be in Chicago on March 11th!
Old Town School of Folk Music
4544 North Lincoln Ave.
Chicago, IL 60625
773-728-6000
From their website:
http://www.oldtownschool.org/concerts/e ... o?id=P4063
Saturday, March 11, 2006
7:00 PM & 10:00 PM
American Airlines Concert Hall :: 4544 N Lincoln Ave.
Loudon Wainwright III
with special guest Jake Shimabukuro
$25, $23 Old Town School members, $21 seniors and kids
Loudon Wainwright III makes albums about his most personal experiences, and almost nothing is considered too intimate. Honesty with Wainwright seems to be a compulsion. Yet there are at least two Loudon Wainwrights. If one is the unflinchingly naked autobiographical writer, the other is the comic, red-nosed performer... The London Times
Known for lightning-fast fingers and revolutionary playing techniques, Jake Shimabukuro is a master of the ukulele. The 28-year-old virtuoso shatters musical boundaries.
"[Jake's] crazy flipping fingers provided one show-stopping moment after another... the 28-year-old is advancing the ukulele the way Bela Fleck has advanced the banjo and Chris Thile is advancing the mandolin."
Is anyone interested in going?
I'm about 90% sure I'll make the trip. Who else is in?

That would be a great show to see both people. Wainwright is very entertaining and a great actor - was great as Hal Karp on 'Undeclared'
Is it day?

Ooh! Bummer!
I would like to see that show. Hmmmm... I
do know the director of the Old Town school...
Eh, pretty unlikely I'd be able to snag tickets though...
`How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.
`You must be,' said the Cat, `or you wouldn't have come here.'
