I also have now decided that I like sitting up high and being able to see over traffic, it helps avoid accidents when you live in Snowbird Country.
Apparently a lot of people like sitting up high, and therefore many cars on the road can't see around them because they are surrounded by trucks.

Well, speaking for myself and a lot of other Buffett fans I know, we have SUV's and love the space for the concerts.

I find it so hypocritical of anyone to criticize what others drive - regardless of who they are or how much I like their music.
I love hearing that Bubba thinks I shouldn't be driving my SUV (yes, I own an SUV, so sue me already!). I'd like to know what everyone thinks when they find out that Bubba's hemisphere dancer sucks down an abhorrent 35 gallons per hour. Even his smaller Seaplane's he flies now consume 12.5 to 15 gph. At worst my SUV sucks down maybe 2 gallons in an hour.
Once again, in issues of politics. . . I invite the whole world of entertainment to just "Shut up and sing!"

If I'm not mistaken, it doesn't consume anything because it's planted on the ground at Margaritaville Orlando.

actually, if LittleMrMagic is a DJ, doesn't that make him a part of the world of entertainment?
and I think his math is off. Unless his SUV gets 30 mpg, the consumption figures he listed could be off a bit. The Albatross does get about 2.5 mpg tho, but, that is at 160knots, and dammit, it's a lot cooler than any Escalade.

If it weren't for the likes of protest singers the world would be a very different place today.

For one thing, I wouldn't have half of the 45's I've bought over the years.
But, in my defense, I was young & didn't know any better.
(As opposed to being OLD and not knowing any better).
I figured I'd say it before someone else did.

As for high gas prices, look no further than our own government for that. Ain't got a thing to do with tree huggers.
Agreed...how many people here in Florida need a 4x4???

Because there used to be actual places to go offroading in Florida...oh and also maybe they all ready had them from when they moved from up north????

Once in a while an SUV can come in handy, especially if you are Quail hunting and need a place to lay down afterwards.

Three questions...
1) Why would I need to see around an SUV? I only need to respond to the car in front of me.
2) Would you be able to see around an SUV if you backed off a bit and didn't tailgate?
3) To those who complain about SUV's increasing our dependence on foreign oil...how many of you carpool? My neighbor and I work a few blocks apart and we carpool - in our SUV's.

no.. you need to react to all the cars around you, not just the one ahead of you in your lane.

First time I saw a hummer limo was at a Buffett show... course that doesn't mean he was driving it. What a waste of gasoline!
(I drive a Durango SUV, but I don't really like the gas guzzler.)

My thoughts exactly. I bet I consume less gasoline and polute the atmosphere less with my Suburban and Cherokee than Jimmy does with his boats, planes, and jets. I love the man and his music, but it bugs me when singers get polital. Eh, maybe it was taken out of context too. Who knows.

Fine. The point is, I can see the car in front of me and the cars on either side of me. If I use my mirrors, I can see the car behind me. If I do my part to maintain space around my vehicle - especially between my vehicle and the guy in front of me - I don't have to respond to the car way up the road.
