Put the candle holder in the freezer for at least an hour. The wax pops right out. Melting it is way too messy.

They sell glass candles for decoration for areas you wouldn't want to actually light candles, but want the look of. I have a set of blue glass candles in my entryway hallway since I really can't leave candles burning in that area. They're really very lovely.

You asked what else candles are made out of :)
