Sorry if this is a pointless thread for most but since I can see the Boston skyline from my window I thought this was very cool. Mayor Menino yesterday announced that they will be building the biggest building in Boston history soon that will forever change the skyline. I've always had a fascination with skyscrapers so I am ecstatic about how this will change the city both from a visual standpoint as well as a business/financial aspect. I also can't wait to see how much worse a building of this size will do for the already crap-tacular traffic in the city.

here is my favorite Skyline..

I never thought much about each city having a unique skyline until after September 11 when New York lost the Twin Towers. Now, whenever I am driving back up to "my" city from an out of town trip, I make a conscious effort to notice its skyline.

It figures the winthrop st garage they are using as the footprint was a city owned parking garage, one of the few with reasonable parking rates. thank god i no longer have to drive in for work
