and now I don't think I'll ever see the movie.

I don't know who Ellen Barkin is. I don't like eye candy unless she'll give me her phone #

Cool...then..we have your permission to gaze upon Mr. D. Quaid...and you can oogle Ms. Barkin, (the former Mrs. Gabriel Byrne)...?

BTW, it is an excellent movie...not a chick flick, either...it was released before..chick flick was coined...

You evidently did the same thing I did tonight: watched the movie!!!
I loved this movie, if not for it's story or acting, but for the MUSIC!! I have the cd and I play it very often, some of the best N.O. musicians are on it. As I watched it tonight, I got almost physically sick as I saw New Orleans as it was.....at each scene, I told the hubby, "Good gosh, I wonder if that is still there." I am severely depressed now knowing that most of what was there in the movie is now not there. I have only been there twice, at the most, a week's time. But I dearly loved every inch of that town, can't describe how special it was. I sure hope they can get the town back, only better! :D

I haven't seen it in about a hundred years, but would be glad to publicly state that Dennis Quaid is on "the list." That's the The List of FIIIINE men. :wench: Sam Elliott and Tom Selleck are also on The List.

Yep love the music too. It's one of a handful of movies that I love to watch over again. I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thinks Mr Quaid is mighty fine. I see that the movie is twenty years old. I wonder how young he was when he made this movie. He looks young but not like a baby face.
