I'm 15 and in High School. My Dad turns 50 in april and I want to get him tickets to see Jimmy but I am in school when they go on sale. Is there any way to get them besides ticketmaster or a way to get them early. My mom said I can use her visa card. Thank you all.

do you have a cool teacher that would let you use the phone or computer in the office? i'm sure if you told them what was up, they would help you out ...

And I guess your mom can't get the tix herself?

If not, what about an aunt, uncle, grandparent, etc.

BTW-Welcome to BN! :D

I'm guessing that the school computers would block Ticketmaster, I know ours in Cali sure would.

And I'd worry that if you tried by phone and they figured out you were under 18 that they might not put your sale through. :-?

Can your Mom do it? You need to set up the TM account prior to buying the tix anyway, and she could practice before they tix go on sale. She would just need to be logged into her account and keep clicking refresh until the tickets available message comes up, then just plug in what she needs. It's not that difficult.

What show are you trying to take your Dad to? What a great gift! :D

And welcome to BN! :D

Thank you

I wish I went to a school that cool. My mom can hardly turn on the microwave. I am trying to get him tickets to go to Mountain View shoreline. Would I still be able to get ticket on Ticketmasters after 3 o'clock? Would they be good seats? My Dad used to see Jimmy in San Diego a long time ago but hasn't been back cuz of us kids. It's all he listens to in the car so I'm kind of a junior parrothead. Any other ideas?

By three o'clock they will be sold out. Do you have any body that could buy tickets for you.

Well, Mom can dial a phone..

I don't know how quickly the Shoreline pavilion seats sell out, but lawn tix are always available.

Whereabouts in Cali are you? I'm guessing you're going to play hooky the day of the show? Or are you going to leave right after school? That's the reason I can't go...I teach and can't get out that early to make the drive from the valley to Shoreline. :-? :(

Maybe your mom would let you skip a half day of school... I know, I know, telling kids to skip school, not a great idea, but it's for a good cause...

The only alternative I could suggest would be checking out the ticket exchange here to see if tickets become available or using a ticket broker but be prepared to pay out the nose if you go the latter route...

There always seems to be tickets floating around on the ticket exchange here, and it's pretty easy to tell if someone's reputable or not (i.e., number of posts, previous sales of tickets, referrals from other BNers, etc).

I got shut out of Pittsburgh tickets two years ago but bought a pair from someone in the ticket exchange.

If it comes down to it you can almost always get one on ebay... if you're willing to pay. Or you can scalp a ticket there, which is what I always do. I send girls to find them though they tend to get better prices.

I bought better tkts to the Philly show last year 3 days prior to the concert than the ones I bought 6 months in advance. It's a crap shoot with tktmaster.

There's a good reason for this... the venue holds back tickets for the band, VIPs, etc., and if they aren't going to be used, they put them up for sale a few days (even up to a couple weeks) before the event. It's hit or miss, though, sometimes there will be a lot of extra tickets, sometimes not....

Last year I heard there was a way to get a passcode to purchase tickets a day in advance. For the life of me, I can't remember the site or the circumstances. .. Can anyone enlighten me ??? I really need to buy tickets to Irvine Meadows Saturday show, (ok, Verizon Amp) and have 2 parakeets who must attend! Thanks in advance.
