We get ours out in Manassas a day or so before te show. Never had a problem getting out. They usually park you near the exits.

Greetings from Hoot Island!
I hope some of you get to listen to the concert Friday night. We will be the ones in the crowd having the most phun.
Everyone is still asleep over on the Island and I thought I would come over here to see if anyone was awake yet.
I remember my time at the Nissan concert the summer before last ... my first "after concert" tailgate, OMG my first beer bong, just for the record I won the first beer pong game in the grove of trees, and yes I still have incriminating pictures from the spin the wheel game ...

We are coming up from Southern Maryland (St. Mary's)for our 10th show. I do enjoy the NPSR shows but if JB still did Merriwether, I'd be able to walk to my brother's house afterwards. Oh well. I was planning the tailgate menu while I was at work tonight, the usual BBQ shrimp and scallops and plenty of libations. If there is anyone from down this way who want to pre show just holler.

It looks like Nissan is a NO GO for us.

Our college-bound keet has completely struck out in the scholarship money chase, so no fun tickets for us this summer.
I'll listen in and hoist a brew.
FINZ UP!

Driving to Nissan Pavilion

When driving to Nissan (from suburban Baltimore area), we have always followed I-66 west out of DC. Now this route is bad enough on a regular rush-hour weekday, but with a Buffett concert in the offing, there has to be a better way.
Does anybody have experience with a good route from northern Maryland/Eastern PA to Nissan that avoids I-66 in Fairfax?

They are few and far between, but if you hit Frederick MD, and then take Rt 15 South through Point of Rocks, MD to Leesburg. From there you can stay on 15 straight to 29 and take it East to Nissan, or get on the Dulles Greenway to 28 South to 29 West or 66 West.
This is the next closest crossing of the Potomac.

Sounds good to me.

I would say that even the route through Frederick, MD through Leesburg would still be crowded. I would suggest the Greenway...
