Thanks for the forecast! Wouldn't be summer in VA without the heat and humiditytsavos wrote:Medium range weather models indicate a hot and humid August 3rd at Nissan. NWS is predicting a heat index of 103, with around a 30% chance of thunderstorms.

Just FYI . . . 2 of our members were at Nissan last night and everything was just the way we remember it. They didn't advertise, but no one bothered them, so let's tailgate on Thursday.
Sidenote: I have a friend who's trying to get a lawn seat for Thursday, Nissan for her daugher. If you can hook us up, please let me know.

Look for the 6' shark baloon over our bus. We will have our DJ spinning tunes and giving away tattoos. Sorry, the bus potty is off limits to non-club members.

Parking and traffic @ NISSAN
OK here is the update on the Nissan P-lot security. I have been to six shows at Nissan thusfar this summer... . was at Kenny last night (it was awesome)... Kenny was for the most part a dress rehearsal for this thursday.... A Countrified Buffet concert...
Fairfax's Finest have been really fantastic and not obtrusive. I have been told that I have personally "observed" much sustance abuse in the parking lot and as long as you are discreet, you are in generally good shape. Use your roadie cups, and coolies and everyone is happy. The only time I have seen anyone run afoul, is when they have been complete A-holes and pretty much deserved it.
So the peace officers have been doing just that keeping the peace and not harrassing those who were not looking for trouble.
Nissan's parking staff have been somewhat JV... seems they are not well seasoned, and I have had more problem with them understanding that I have gear to unload, etc...
Really tho'... Props to the cops this years for their effort at controlling the flow of traffic upon departure. The police have doing a great job this year with traffice control.
WORD OF CAUTION!!! I have seen no less than six rear-end collisions this year on the road leading out to I-66. For GOD"S Sake people -you can NOT go faster that 25 mph, so let's all chill this Thursday, and not ride the bumper of the guy in front. IF you rear end the dude in front your screwed. You'll have at least two cruiser on you in 30 seconds....
ALSO IMPORTANT!!!!! for those of you who have not been out there this year NOTE: a new traffic pattern that takes you straight out to the Raceway gas station intersection. It is a double lane intersection with BOTH right lanes turning right... SO PLEASE everyone "bust a move when you get there, you do NOT have to ALL merge into the right lane. Both lanes will turn right at the Raceway....LOL
Watch for police at every intersection, and those flashlights they have... well when they tell you to turn, don't hesitate.... JUST DO IT!!! LOL...
Question for the masses - What time are the gates to the P-Lot opening this year. last year it was around 1100...
LOve to all... and see you there... Steve

Thanks surfersteve
Thanks for the updates on Nissan / Chesney.
Line up for the lots anytime prior to 12. When they have their act together, they start to let people in.
The only problems I have EVER seen in the Buffett Nissan lots were the youngsters who could not manage to control themselves. Us seasoned parking lot professionals should be good-to-go based on your analysis !!
How you feel - HOT, HOT, HOT.

Re: Thanks surfersteve
Hey all, thanks for the info on Nissan. I think the key points for Thursday are drink (beer) responsibly, drink lots of water, stay cool and don't be an idiot.
Twenty degrees and the hockey games on...
OK, last gasp on the phone list. I am getting a list of cell phone numbers together so we can all, at least try, to finally meet one another. Or just have more people to get rowdy with. I will finish the list and send it out Wednesday. If you want to be on it, just PM me your name & number and I will add you.
See you all Thursday night!

Nissan Pavilion drinking
This year is my first time to Nissan Pavilion, I have heard they are pretty tough on drinking in the lot...can anybody confirm this travisty?
Attn: Wacky
Wacky,
Please take the time to read the previous few pages of posts. This should answer your questions about the lot at Nissan.
General rule: Be cool, don't be a fool and you should be just fine. Honestly, it is usually a great party atmosphere.
Enjoy.

anyone with kids?
I know from the past there are quite a few people who bring their kids to the show, so we figured that we would take ours this year. age 3 and 8
Just wondering if there were any groups that might to meet up to provide a kid friendly play area prior to the show.
thanks / Rob

I was also at the Chesney concert on Friday. I witnessed the county police making several people pour their beers out. The first time, the people had beer cans in Koozies, so the top of the beer can was visible. The second time the guy had it in a cup. There was definitely an increase in police presence. We had beers in cups and kept them out of sight as much as possible.

Well, this is going to be one of the hottest Buffett shows at Nissan that I've been to. We are now officially under an Excessive Heat Watch until Thursday night.

Hey guys , was also at nissan for the chesney concert this past week, at first i had my beer in a coozie was approached by a parking lot attendant that was walking around. I had a cup write their with me and he told me to put it in it. After that i didnt have any problems, although i will say that i have been to a few other concerts this year and there was grilling going on at almost every one of them, and i saw no one grilling on friday night , couldve been due to the friday night show instead of saturday like the other ones. I will say that if you get in certain lots like the very back lot , they call the "new lot" they will hold you for at least 2 hours after the show. They cleared out the first lots before even letting us out so be prepared to continue the party for a while after the show. That shouldnt be a problem as long as you have a DD.
