Hey all,

T-minus ONE day and counting.

Conchette, we are a group of semi-old guys (Balto. area) that never miss a Nissan or Meriweather show. We are planning for heat, but, are committed to the parking lot party atmospere.

Hope to see y'all out there.

Heya Reed and Conch, I'm coming from the eastern shore (lower) near Ocean City, Md. I will be doing it up despit the hot weather. I am going to go get some last minute supplies today (that I wasn't counting on needing). Most importantly, the big cooler is still loaded from last weekend's party and just needs re-iced!

Can't wait!

Just wondering if there were any groups that might to meet up to provide a kid friendly play area prior to the show.

thanks / Rob
Hey Earthbound! FYI!!!! I have seen at all five concerts this year at Nissan they have established a "FAMILY ZONE" in the lawn. It is directly behind section 301, with good views of stage...

The Family Zone rules - No Smoking and No drinking. Actually I was appalled at the first time I saw this, but have actually used the Family Zone this year -During the Def Leppard concert. You can only imagine why...HAHAHAHa

Not sure if it will be up for the JB concert but it was a great ppllace for the kiddies.

Headed to Nissan on Thursday, getting hot weather preparations started...

I purchased a 12x12 canopy tent at Dicks Sporting Goods for about $70. The store in Columbia, MD had a TON of them out on their sidewalk - I tested them and they cut the heat by a good 15 degrees.

I'm borrowing a power inverter to run off my Prius to handle an oscellating fan.

Need to run to Target to pick up mist fan bottles tomorrow.

Hotel room is booked, still need to confirm.

Speaking of that, does anyone know how to *confirm* tickets not purchased through Ticketmaster? I purchased through "ticketsnow.com" and paid too much, but I was desperate for a fix.

Got a 3 Gallon Cooler with a spicket for Iced Margaritas. Shrimp are thawing to be marinated in Tequilla tomorrow. No grill - too hot!

I have a baby pool, but how does one get the water there? You'd need a WHOLE lot.

I so miss the good old days back at Merriweather... If any old AOL Parrotheads are out there - shout out! Conchette is headed to VA!!
Lauren
Welcome to the board.
Confirming e-tickets. My understanding is that you can't. You have to walk up to the gate and they will scan the ticket. If it is valid you will get in, if not . . . well we won't go there. Also there is no limit to how many times an e-ticket can be printed. Only the first scan will be allowed in so plan on leaving the tailgate early unless you know and trust the person from whom you bought the ticket. This has been covered in some threads here, so search for it and see what other people have said.

As for water, there is no water source in the parking lot (unless you count the processed alcohol, but hey it is sterile) Sorry had to go there.

Hope to see you in the parking lot.

We're up to 101 according to The Weather Channel! We'll be making the 4-5 hour trip from the Wheeling/Morgantown area. Makes me think of the 2003 Nissan 4th of July show which was like 98 degrees that day also.

Work in Reston, live in Fairfax. So that is where I will be schlepping from. We won't be leaving home until about 5 tomorrow night. The keet's babysitters can't get there until then. So, this year will have a curtailed tailgating, but hopefully we will get there in time to at least meet up with you guys and galls.

You picked up 100 lbs of St Louis? You are *definitely* going to have to pay the excess weight charge to bring that back to VA.

Yeah, I figured as much. Couldn't let that one go; pronoun placement is everything (says the engineer who couldn't identify a verb if it hit him in the head. Find the irony in that sentence :) ).

I can't believe you are bringing a grill - it's gonna be too damn hot to stand in front of one of those. I'm thinking of bringing tinfoil and cooking burgers on the hood of my car. I'm sure there is a web site out there that tells you how to do that.

Hi guys — we're going, with our own little group, but I lurk and was hoping someone might be able to help.

I HAVE a hotel, the holiday inn manassas battlefield. However, my parents (we're dog sitting for them) didn't get take the dog to the vet to get her kennel cough shot and now we can't get a kennel and have to bring the pooch with us.

I hate breaking rules, and will sneak her in if I have to for lack of any other option, BUT was hoping someone (like myself, who will be cancelling two rooms at that HI today) might be able to give me a heads up if they're cancelling one of the nearby pet-friendly hotels: The Red Roof or the Best Western, both in manassas.

Anyone? Anyone?

Scary enough, I've seen that website before. I just couldn't remember where. Reminds me of that Seinfeld episode with Kramer and the food from Costco.

Thanks for all the discussion here with regards to parking lot preparations and dealing with the heat. I also remember the show a few years back at Nissan when it was about 98. We survived it then, and we will survive it tomorrow.

Beer, beer, beer - water. Repeat as necessary. If need be, take 2 jello shooters and seek some shade. This year, I would allow all crazed phun seekers to shoot me with a water gun too. May even need to wear a bathing suit, whilst chewing on my juicy fruit !!
