Do you think they will allow each of us to bring in a 1 gal bottle of water???? they didn't give a size limit?

Yes, we have tickets in section 303. Its the first time for seats and the first time bringing the kids. We've even been able to brainwash/teach my 3 year old to do a great version of both Fins and Volcano :D

CHANCE OF A LIFETIME - FREE 2nd ROW TICKET

This is no joke. My wife and I have 2nd row orchestra 2 (center section row B) tickets for tonight's show at Nissan.

Her elderly father is not feeling well. He and his wife were our babysitters. At his age and previous health issues .... well bottom line, my wife is not comfortable going to the show now. She told me to 'find a date'.

So ....... I am offering up ... for free (though I wouldn't turn down a beer if offered as compensation) .... the seat next to me. I'd like to do this by meeting up in the parking lot with some BNers and from that group, I'm sure I can find a volunteer.

I'll start reading through this thread and see if I can find info on where to find a contengency of BNers. Looks like I won't get to the parking lot until about 5pm.

Wow. I'm sorry to hear about your wife's father.

I'm sure you could find a volunteer. I'm not sure where people are going to be either. Do you want a copy of the phone list? I can PM it to you.

I almost didn't make it to the show. Traffic was terrible. We left late (5:45 from the Baltimore suburbs.) Parking was almost non-existant. We were starving and sorely in need of libation after more than 3 hours in the car.

Luckily I was with good friends who hung with me through the tough times. We grabbed a quick drink and a bite in the parking lot before heading inside to catch the second half of the show.

Jake was great. He added a lot to the band's performance. Dixie Chicken got us going full tilt. Then Southern Cross put us in heaven.

Sorry I didn't hook up with any BNers. (I looked for lanyards, but didn't see any.)

Auntie, I'm glad you got tix.

My colleagues say we'll do it again next year. I'd say it was a good trip.

Have you EVER seen so much alcohol enforcement???? GOD FORBID we didn't have our beer in a cup and were drinking from the can!!!! :o

Even after the show, the cops gave one of my friends grief about drinking beer from the can instead of a cup. I just don't ever remember seeing so much "law" before....

It was not only about drinking. One group had their bus "confiscated" for some registration glitch and below is what one member of my PHC wrote:

After the Buffett concert began and our party was cut to 1/3 of its original glory, the non-ticket-holding rest of us sat around and listened to the tunes. About 30 minutes into our relaxation, local law enforcement showed up to continue the tight control (some would say….harassment). Two officers on bicycles stopped at our site and declared, "We smell marijuana and we’re going to search everyone here." After a few pat-downs, I began talking with one of the officers. After finding out he didn’t have a sense of humor, I proceeded to tell him that he would need a female officer to pat down my wife. He said, "Who says so?" I said the Supreme Court to which he replied, "We’ll see." My wife continued her pleas for me to be quiet, but I wasn’t planning to allow the search. Luckily, the situation diffused before I got arrested. Soon, we had about six officers around us and they continued to question and search. I told the serious officer that there were several college groups around us and soon they were on their way to search for the smell. Supposedly, two guys a few sites over were handcuffed and arrested.
All in all, the Jimmy Buffett concert trip was a great event, despite the heat, the parking location, and local law enforcement. We’ll have to consider another venue if Nissan plans to continue the extreme enforcement and harassment techniques.

We didn't have any kind of run in with the cops (thankfully) but I kinda agree. If this trend continues, I'll just skip Nissan and go to a show elsewhere on the tour. It's a shame, I really like it there - the lawn is unreal, the concertgoers are awesome, and despite parking us so close together, the lots are still cool. Guess we'll see what next year holds... :-?
