We stopped over to great woods yesterday to find out all the details, since no one was answering any of the phones...The security guard at the gate said that he wouldn't be opening the gates until noon! I thought it was earlier than that....

Also, does great woods allow chairs in the lawn section? Or do you can you just bring a blanket?

Can't wait for Thursday!!! We will be in a blue minivan with a palm tree on the roof. Hope to meet some of you guys!!

Noon is the advertised time.... They'll open the gates as soon as the road outside gets gridlocked, which will be pretty early... by noon the primo lot will be full...

No chairs on the lawn, just blankets.

They said noon

They have a "Early Arrivals lot" which opens by 8AM. The "Early Arrivals lot" is the best place to park, it's right up front and near the RV section.

Early Arrivals lot, they can call it what ever they want. :D

*****TRAFFIC ALERT*****

There is construction on I-495 south in the Franklin area. Backups have been as much as ten miles, and there's nowhere to get off once you're in the backup. I'd seriously consider an alternate route, or you may get stuck in a mess.

If you're coming from NH, VT, or Maine and would normally take I-495 south, consider I-95/128 to I-495 south.

If you're coming from Connecticut through Hartford, consider getting off the Mass Pike at Rt 146 south toward Providence, then picking up I-295 north to I-95 north to I-495 south.

If you're coming through Connecticut on I-95 and would normally cut up I-91 through Hartford, stay on I-95 north through Providence instead.

From the Natick/Framingham/Worcester area: consider Mass Pike/I-95/Rt 128 south to I-495 south (or come down Rt 115 to US 1 to I-495 south. The backup will be north of the US 1/I-495 interchange)

Bottom line: look at your maps. I-495 south between Bellingham and Wrentham will probably be a rolling backup, and a mess. I know some of the routes I mentioned sound ridiculously circuitous to you locals, but that construction is causing massive problems, and it's better to take an extra half hour en route than be stuck in traffic for up to two hours.....

I am just confirming.

We are meeting in the McDonalds shopping Plaza (same place as last year) at 9:30-10:00AM on Thursday, right?

:-?

Ok then lets confirm, lets all who get there early meet at 9:30-10AM in the McDonald's shopping Plaza just past the Great Woods entrance on the left. That way we can all drive in together.

The plaza is actually in Norton.

If I end up in the lots to the left I will pull over and cry

It doesn't matter to me what time. How about 9-9:15AM then?

My buddy Mike got there late last year and he was all the way over to the left but he was in a lot I didn't even know existed. It was all the way to the left and then down a dirt path :-? which then opened up to another parking lot. I think the walk from the RV section took me 30 minutes. Not a good place to be.

what about 95/128 south to 495 south? the 95/495 interchange is south of the construction.
