gosh, that traffic sounds awful. i guess we'll be going through boston, yuck!!!
what about 95/128 south to 495 south? the 95/495 interchange is south of the construction.
You might hit regular rush hour traffic on 128/95 but it will be past the construction. I have been down that way a few times over the last week or so. 95 South to 495 South then 140 towards Norton.

i used to do the 128 commute and it SUCKS. of course boston isn't any picnic either. i still think i'm going through the city. once you get past south station it's usually clear sailing.

For those who are interested.... take 128/95 South and stay on 95. Take exit 7A (which is 140 South) and follow that to Great Woods.
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.

Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

Yep. If you're flying in, I would take 93 South to 128 north (which is also 93 South) to 95 South and follow my directions.
Yes I know you won't SGH.

Ditto, I have been looking online since 7:30 and not one mention of a 495 problem south of the Pike.

It's there! :-? It's one of those "2 lanes down to 1" deals, for a stretch of 1 or 2 miles around the King St (Franklin) exit. However, there are times that it backs up into Milford. It's typically later in the day, so those getting to GW early should be all set.

That is because it is considered "the boonies" and therefore not covered in Boston's traffic reports. :-?

I-495 South is all screwed up from Exit 17 to just past Exit 15.

I have. The "usual" delay that I've noticed is only about 5-10 minutes. That is only when the traffic is backed up for about a mile. It has been much worse lately, backing up 5+ miles at times. This has typically been at the end of the day, making matters much worse.

when I was going the other way (northbound) last thursday afternoon the southbound backup at the 3-lanes-to-2 construction merge was *seven* miles long...... I came home back roads...

those coming in late tonight shouldn't have problems, but during the daytime it's a mess

Way too much talk about traffic and stuff. Who's the first BNer that will cause trouble, do something foolish, get naked, etc and end up on the CocoTel?
