You might hit regular rush hour traffic on 128/95 but it will be past the construction. I have been down that way a few times over the last week or so. 95 South to 495 South then 140 towards Norton.SchoolGirlHeart wrote:what about 95/128 south to 495 south? the 95/495 interchange is south of the construction.MacPhin wrote:last year we met up at 9 am. let 's make it 9.
gosh, that traffic sounds awful. i guess we'll be going through boston, yuck!!!

i used to do the 128 commute and it SUCKS. of course boston isn't any picnic either. i still think i'm going through the city. once you get past south station it's usually clear sailing.

For those who are interested.... take 128/95 South and stay on 95. Take exit 7A (which is 140 South) and follow that to Great Woods.
If you want an experience, go to a Jimmy Buffett concert.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

Yep. If you're flying in, I would take 93 South to 128 north (which is also 93 South) to 95 South and follow my directions.SchoolGirlHeart wrote:but remember that the tunnel closures have things really screwed up, too....MacPhin wrote:i used to do the 128 commute and it SUCKS. of course boston isn't any picnic either. i still think i'm going through the city. once you get past south station it's usually clear sailing.

That is because it is considered "the boonies" and therefore not covered in Boston's traffic reports.BottleofRum wrote:Ditto, I have been looking online since 7:30 and not one mention of a 495 problem south of the Pike.MacPhin wrote:watched the traffic reports all morning long and not one mentin of the 495 construction. ??????? or any back ups

I have. The "usual" delay that I've noticed is only about 5-10 minutes. That is only when the traffic is backed up for about a mile. It has been much worse lately, backing up 5+ miles at times. This has typically been at the end of the day, making matters much worse.MacPhin wrote:have you experienced this traffic snarl???Caribbean Soul wrote:That is because it is considered "the boonies" and therefore not covered in Boston's traffic reports.BottleofRum wrote:Ditto, I have been looking online since 7:30 and not one mention of a 495 problem south of the Pike.MacPhin wrote:watched the traffic reports all morning long and not one mentin of the 495 construction. ??????? or any back ups
