It's in the University City Complex at the intersection of Hwy 29 and Harris Blvd. The Hilton Hotel is nearby, with the Holiday Inn and others in the business park across Harris Blvd.mirrorthatlies wrote:Its in the University area and is a bar/restaurant. There may be other pre-concert party's going on, but this is the only one that I know about. Anyone that has Jager Bombs......I'm there!!!!
We plan on getting into Charlotte around 3:00ish on Saturday....Checking into our Hotel, maybe chill out for a little bit, and then it is party time.
We must take full advantage of the weekend.....with a 2 year old, We don't get much away time like this. So it will be a great (early) Anniversary gift.
Our last trip away from the 'keet was May 2005 (U2 concert in Philadelphia).....which was wonderful. But nothing like a Buffett Concert!!! It is truly an EVENT, everyone must experience!!

Mornin', y'all.....just getting us bumped back to the top. Not much said on here the last couple of days.
I was just curious about where everyone is staying. Is anyone else going to be in the Concord Mills area? We got our room up there but it sounds like most are staying down in the Tryon area. Wish we could go up on Saturday but it looks like Sunday for hubby and I. Are most of you going up a day early?
Also, after some debate, I think we are going to bring our small grill....the one we use for the races.....uses little propane canisters. We will be happy to share if anyone wants to throw anything on! It's small but we can take turns. I have to plan well because space is limited but I think some decent food is high up on the priority list!

Greetings from Hoot Island!
I hope some of you get to listen to the concert Friday night. We will be the ones in the crowd having the most phun. Everyone is still asleep over on the Island and I thought I would come over here to see if anyone was awake yet.
I have one thing to say, and I know that I have never been to a show here, but ... beware of any blue-eyed monkeys!

If you must choose between two evils, pick the one you've never tried before ...

grill
Good morning everyone
As I posted earlier I'll be bringing my grill. It's a three tier Char-Broil so anyone who wants to share is more than welcome. Two tanks of propane for all our bbq needs!!
Bubba burgers, hot dogs, chicken, grilled onions, mushrooms, etc.
It may be more than we need but we don't do this every weekend.
Our banner is in the works and if anyone has any suggestions about it please PM me today!!

Hubby and I are gonna be at the Hampton. I think it's one exit up from the Verizon exit. I'm thinking now I gotta find a way to go up on Saturday. What was I thinking only getting a room for Sunday night?!??Railroad Lady wrote:

I'm glad you're bringing a big grill, Cocotel......our is so small but our space will be very, very limited...gotta prioritize. As of right now, we're thinking burgers (of course) and maybe some wings. Beyond that, not too sure.....maybe some pimento cheese and pita chips, too.....and I'll definitely have to do a little decor work on the Jeep, I think.

Wow....had to look all the way to the bottom to find us!mirrorthatlies wrote:I'll be heading back home after the concert, but sounds like it would be more fun to stay at one of the hotels with the rest of the phlock!
Yeah, Mirrorhatlies.....if you can't stay the night of, you should try for the night before, at least!! I think there are still rooms to be had, especially in the University area. Hubby and I were just gonna stay on Sunday night but we changed our minds and decided to make a weekend out of it.
Thanks for taking care of the banner, Cocotel!.....It will be a great way to find you. Phil and I will probably get into town mid-afternoon and then head over to Boardwalk's after getting settled in at the hotel. I'm getting excited about meeting everyone!

Good morning
Hello again everyone.
If anyone is still looking for a hotel for Saturday night there are still plenty available if you go to www.marriott.com and look over "all hotels"
I was reluctant at first to post this because Marriott is usually higher than most hotels but found that their Fairfield chains have some pretty good rates.
Things are coming together really well for everyone and the excitement continues to grow!!
