My alcohol intake isn't going to peak until Tuesday afternoon about 4:30 then it will be time to lay off for a couple hours - must pace myself so I can remember the show!

How spendy is the Travelodge and where is it, relative to the venue? I'm torn between the Pool party there and the convenient near walking (or crawling distance) of the Red Roof Inn :-)

By the way, I'm still p*** at you Arizona parrotheads. . . sound off, give me some organization here!!! Where are the pre-parties or are you not even taking off work to enjoy this fully on Tuesday! I know this concert is midweek but isn't a Buffett show enough of a reason to call in sick or take an extra day of vacation for???
Or are you spoiled by the fact he comes to your town every year. . . Come on! You are poor hosts!!! Give me something to work with here. . . do you really want some shmuck from Salt Lake coming down from Utah to show you guys how to party - I heard Phoenix was a party town!!!! Where are you Phoenix?!?! Stuck in a geriatrics ward???!!!!

Answer my call to arms - PAAARRRRTTTTYYYY!!!!

WHERE IS IT!!!!

Maybe somebody can step and take the lead....
And as a main conspirator...oops I mean "organizer" of another concert gathering thread who happens to live a thousand miles away from the venue, I can tell you that the internet is OUR PHRIEND in soooo many ways!
Hope you guys have a great time welcoming Jimmy to the start of a new tour!
:D
If you'd like to invite Fourplay Palm, I believe FourPlay would be the one to coordinate that with. I think he's the keeper of the little beast this year.

I'm driving up from Tucson with a friend so I'm taking a half day Tuesday, lots of fun to show up at work in shorts and Hawaiian shirt and not return from lunch. Going to hook up with some friends from Phoenix (say that 8 times real quick), Wednesday will be a day off to recover. I'm not sure if the Travelodge will be sold out by now, it's pretty cheap and is stumbling distance from the venue. Not a real fancy place, I just want a mattress to pass out on.

LittleMrMagic, let me be the first to welcome you and all the Nauticle Weavers who are making the journey to the great oasis in the desert Known as
Cricket Pavilion.. I'm 120 miles North in Prescott Valley so my trip won't be to long. I will be heading down to the Valley Tuesday Morning and returning home on Wednesday night once my head clears.
The AZPHC has posted on their web site that the South Gate will be openning at 3:00 pm for pre concert festivities. The last few years it's been earlier than that. I cannot confirm or deny this.
Here is a bit of Motel info I have scraped up as I will be needing a room for the night possibly.
1520 N 84 Dr. is the Econo Lodge $149. Within a mile
1424 N. 50th Ave. is the Travel Lodge $58.49 4.5 miles Give or Take
1550 N. 52 Dr. Days Inn $69.66 4.5 miles
1530 N. 52 Dr. Motel 6 $47.49 same
The last three are all a straight shot up I-10 and back 5 to 10 min drive max.
I have not booked mine yet as we are talking about a Motor Home trip.
But that has not been finalized yet , and time is running short.
I hope everyone has a safe voyage into Phoenix (Tollison)
It's going to be great as usual.

Okay, T-Minus four days until Blast Off. I don't know if anyone is down for it, and if you read my other post on the main discussion board, you'll know I suggested (for those of you in town Monday night) that we meet at a place called "The Drift" in Scottsdale. The website for "The Drift" is http://www.driftlounge.com and it looks awesome. For the youngsters like myself, it may take you back to the Tiki Time tour. For older pholk who remember the 50-60's Tiki craze it will take you back even farther. The whole place is designed to look like a grotto or maybe even a lava vent. . . I'm not sure, but either way, it looks enchanting!
How many of you would be interested in driving over that way and enjoying a Mai Tai with me, or possibly a Volcano Bowl?

Hey Lynn,I am putting you in charge again wishing we could have made it back this year. We just left Phoenix Sat. and it kills me to be so close but I couldn't pull the extra time from work. It looks like a few more BNers than last year. I enjoyed meeting you and just missed Hiking on Tuesday. My brother will be there and I told him to look you all up but he is in charge of a group with a motor home and may not be close. You all HAVE PHUN and kick off this tour! See you in Chicago!

I'll be there - unfortunately Phoenix is a pretty weak scene (not that I'm complaining, love having him here) - hopefully macayos is going this year, because the lot last year was terrible

also a lot of lawn chair in the lawn and a ton of people sitting throughout the show

this will be my little brothers first go at a buffett show and hopefully he can see some of the energy that helps makes these things so great

i'll probably give macayos a call tommorrow and see if they have anything going - if not then I'll just make my way to the lot and pack some food & drink

since i'm in the lawn this year I'm going to try and get in a little early and beat out some of those lawn chairs

It's almost time! Saw the AZ PHC crew on Chn 10! Oops - need a censor there. Anyway, O'Briens is having a pre-party south of Northern on 35th Ave. I think it's kind of far from Cricket but a lot of people will be there from 3-6PM. Well, we will be in the parking lot starting at 3PM. See ya all there! :D
