Phoenix Bound - April 18th ????

Ok, this may be a bit premature since tickets don't even go on sale for over a week yet, but my anticipation is getting the better of me and I have to "talk" some Buffett. Either that or go shoot six holes in my freezer. Well enough about my mental condition, or lack there of. Who is planning on coming to Phx. in April? The wild bunch from Flagstaff, myself, my brother G.G. Grant and others too scary to mention, will be making it two years in a row as we we had a such a great time last year. And yes G.G. Grant will be there in complete regalia; blow up palm tree, grass skirt and coconut bra (Shudder).
Just look for the group of people everybody else is trying to distance themselves from.

But seriously.........
Hopefully Crickets will get the word and open up the parking lot to some SERIOUS tailgating this year although I figure the chances of that happening are slim and none and Slim just left town. So it will probably be party by the poolisde at the Royal 8 motel again this year. Hope to see you there.

Hey --
I'll be coming down from Minnesota via Idaho, Utah and the desert canyons for the Phoenix concert. Looking for parties, of course. Is this hotel of yours a good starting point?
I'd love to get some local support. I'll be carrying a few whitewater canoes and kayaks and would like to find someplace other than the concert parking lot to stash them. I'd be happy to trade a few cases of Polygamy Porter from Salt Lake (why have just one?) for local advice.

You just answered a huge question for me about tailgating in Phoenix. . . that sucks. So we should organize a tailgating party now. Someone who knows Phoenix please help coordinate. Someone who has a brother, mother or sister-in-law you don't like that has a fairly large parking lot attached to their liquor store. . . yeah, that's the ticket. We should party there!!!! Somewhere we can make a complete nuisance out of ourselves but yet give that same person a big enough sales day they won't call the cops on us.
I'm coming from Utah, behind the Zion curtain, if you will, so I NEED a good party!!!!

I went last year as my brother lives there. We had a pretty good time at Macayo's which is pretty close to the venue. They opened the gates between 3 and 3:30. He would be glad to give you any help with the area and may have 2 seats available since I can't go.

Is Macayo's a bar? I'm looking for a hotel close by to stay at. Maybe even one that has a bunch of parrotheads so we could carpool to the venue. Or catch a cab. Or a shuttle. Whatever it takes to stay out of jail in Arizona.
I also have one extra ticket -- sect. 202 row ss if anyone needs it. Face value plus ticketBS fees.

I didn't mention this before because I'm still in negotiations with the bar but I'll give you this hint. . .the only Tiki Bar in the Phoenix area may be making room for me and 199 (their fire capacity) of my closest (BNer's) the night before the show (Monday the 17th). I'm a DJ by trade and I do a weekly Parrothead night at a bar in Salt Lake, where I come from, but I may be taking my show on the road for this week. I'll know definitively by tomorrow. I might even be giving away a pair of tickets.
Check back here in 36 hours and I will give you the details.

I have two tickets to the 4/18/06 Phoenix show. I live in Michigan and just can't make the show. It looks like there are quite a few tix available for face value and I just don't want the tix to go to waste and I don't want to lose all the $ I spent. Face was $126 per ticket and add in the ticket charge, I spent over $300 on the tickets.
However, I'd be happy to sell them for $200 including mailing them by priority mail to the purchaser. They sound like real good seats, sec 205 row CC seats 21 & 22, which I believe is 2nd row of the pavillion. They're the actual tickets and not e tickets.
So, if someone would like to see the show fairly close in the pavillion and save $100, here's your chance. I do want to make sure the tix go to a real PHan instead of a broker, so I wont sell the tix to anyone with less than 20 posts on this board.
If interested either pm me or email me at
paul_shibley@yahoo.com
Thanks. Wish I could go to the show, but at least I have tix for Tinley on 8/5/06 which is only 3 hours from my home.

I am bringing a 15 person conga line all the way from Salt Lake City. Look for us in the parking lot, we'll be with a guy with a 5 foot fin in his tail bed. We'll also be partying harder than any other fools in the parking lot to make up for how repressed they keep us in Utah!!!
Has anyone heard if Club Trini is going to play before the show at the tailgate?

AND... I keep finding this post on about the 5th page. Come on Phoenix people sound off! Let me know that I didn't buy tickets to the lamest Buffett event ever! Where are the pre-parties, any phlockings the night before? How about post concert events? Let's pick this up here!!!

I found this out from Ticketmaster today - for those of you with kids going to Phoenix! Kinda kewl.
This is a Family Zone event!
An area on the lawn has been designated for family and friends who would like to enjoy the concert in a smoke and alcohol free environment. Space is limited, access is first come, first served. Look for signs and directions when you arrive at the event.

Excellent! I'll be looking forward to stopping by for a "few" cold frosty beveridges. 5 ft fin? That should be easy to find. What time does the parking lot open??

I think two years ago we "Phlocked" over to the local burger place and devoured a few cheeseburgers on the way to the show. As alchohol intake increases, desire for the quality of food decreases.
