Nissan Show

Post by allucaneatbuffett »

Fins up to all my fellow Nissan show goer's

I am so relieved and fired up for this show now that it has been announced. I was getting worried there for a while.

For any other Nissan parrotheads, reply back and shout with joy. I know that one lane long road into Nissan is a pain in the rear, but it sure is long forgotten once you have that tailgate set up and those cold corona's flowing.

I took a good friend of mine and his wife last year. they have been dying to go for years. They still can't stop talking about what a blast they had. They were fired up when I emailed them earlier to let them know it's on again....

See you in August...

Here, here!!!

I always love this time of year when the cold winds are still blowing but the tropical mindset is in full gear due to the announcement of the summer tour dates.

I could complain that he's playing the only Baltimore/D.C. event on a Thursday (hey it's better than last year's Wednesday).

I could complain that he's not playing more than one show in the Baltimore/D.C. area (hey I remember the late 90's when he played 4 shows each summer in the area, two at Nissan and two at Merriweather).

But I'm just glad he's coming back, and if the ticket gods are willing, I'll be going! :D

Looking forward to another plocking to Nissan again this summer. Been going to Nissan since '95 and hope to keep that string alive!

I too recall when he played four shows in this area during the summer. Ah, those days are long gone. It was always great when he played both Nissan and Merriweather, because he usually played one at the beginning of summer, and one at the end. Can't think of a better way to usher in, and out, summer.

I'm just thankful that he will be coming to our area this year! Puts my mind in Margaritaville.

Why can't everyone have your attitude? I'm just happy he's still on the road doing shows.

I will always remember those years when he "book-ended" the summer with shows at Nissan/Merriweather fondly. I consider that our Balto/D.C. area was VERY lucky to have that many shows each year. I'm not sure any other region in the country could boast that many shows within such a close distance, and they definitely were good times.

Even a few years back when he played Merriweather Thursday July 3, we had a blow-out 4th of July party at the house, then we went to Nissan for a Saturday July 5th show, was a spectacular combination of scheduling two geographically close concerts around the biggest holiday on summer.

Would I love to have that many shows so close again. . .sure would.
Can we expect that to ever happen again. . .probably not.
Does it take away from the enjoyment Jimmy provided. . .absolutely not.

May the ticket gods be kind to all those who are purchasing for their own personal consumption!

I remember that weekend very clearly (well, almost clearly). Actually, I took a Buffett-virgin to her first show at Merriweather on July 3rd, and she got incensed that people were dancing and having fun. I had a blast, both nights!

I concur on the fact that it doesn't diminish the enjoyment Jimmy provides.

Any chance there are 2 other people that just want 2 tickets to this show? I'd love to team up and try and get in different place in the line before the lottery numbers are given out.

What outlet do you plan to try? I've heard there's one down near Upper Marlboro that no one goes to (can't remember where).

Speaking of standing in line. . .I wonder what will happen to the ticket booths at Hecht's since Macy's is buying them out.

buying nissan tickets

Post by allucaneatbuffett »

I plan on going to my normal place for tickets where they don't do a lottery. Of course, I can't tell where it is. The only place I know of near Upper Marlboro is the Equestrian Center, but that place does have a fair amount of people all the time.
I am a bit concerned though. My wife is due with our third boy on March 26th, however, she is showing signs of perhaps going early. If she goes into labor next Friday right before the tickets go on sale, I am going to be Pis*ed off.............................. Keep your ears out on the news for some woman delivering a baby at the Hecht's ticketmaster...........

Well I work in Upper Marlboro and live in Annapolis. I know Ram's Head Tavern in Annapolis sells them, and I seem to recall people lining up there the day before. They might not have a lottery.

God I miss camping out at Merriwether....

Ticketmaster has the Nissan show listed and the top $$ seats are $86.00 (hope it stays that way).

That's not what I'm seeing http://www.nissanpavilion.com/

Given that the top seats at most other locations are going for over $100, I can't see how Nissan could come in under.

nissan ticket prices

Post by allucaneatbuffett »

Hi all. I just contacted Ticketmaster about the prices for the Nissan show. YOu are correct, they only go up to $86.00.

They told me that the reason is that there are now 4 toll booths that have been installed on that one way road into Nissan, and each toll booth is $10.00. How thoughtful Ticketmaster is!!!

Gosh I love that drive in there!!

What?!?!? $40 just to take that road into Nissan? They should be paying us to have to suffer that thing.

I'm sorry, but that sounds like a crop of crap. Although I do remember some kind of construction going on over top of I-66 last year??? Can a BN'er who lives out that way confirm or refute?

But if it is true, it'll save us money since we usually travel a minimum of four per vehicle (savings = (40X4)-(10x4) = $120/car!)

Toll booths going into Nissan? What does that mean?

No way they have four tollbooths set up. Their website doesn't mention a thing about it. They only say:

"The $3.50 parking fee is included in the ticket price. There is no payment of parking when you arrive at the Pavilion."

Of course they also say:

"You may bring in one sealed bottle of water, 32oz bottles or less! (Note: No bottles will be allowed on Jimmy Buffett, Ozzfest and Anger Management.)"

So bring $5 for that bottle of water when it's 95 degrees with 100% humidity in August in Virginia!
