in all seriousness you'll be lucky to even get through to get tickets... How many reserved are you looking to get? Last year I went for one ticket for each show and ended up with great seats... in years past, I've always tried getting seats for more than one (usually 6-8) and either got lawn or shut-out completely...

March 11 is the on sale date huh? Puts me smack dab in the middle of India. Looks like I am relying on the ticket exchange or ebay for tixs this year...
How's your trip going? Where in India will you be? Good to see that you'll be coming to this show too!!

HOW do ppl get these???

:o
They probably brokers who have season tickets, or something to the effect they can get tix if they need them (sponser, etc.) They are speculating that you are willing to pay more now for guaranteed seats rather than take a chance on TM and risk being shut out.
these are lawn tickets....

OOOOOOO..... besides that, they're in Mass...... I think it's illegal in Mass to sell tickets that much above face value.....
I think we all have the same opinion on brokers. And I understand that the price breaks MA state law, but if they are sold through the Internet then whose jurisdiction is it? Especially if the seller and buyer are in another state or country. This post just got me curious because I see lots of state limits on resale and never see brokers selling them for that low. Even Ebay has rules about prices on tixs, yet I still see incredible bids.

I find it annoying, but not particularly pathetic.

Like it or not, ticket reselling is a business. Great Woods makes season tickets available, and ticket brokers buy some of them. Then they resell those seats for what the market will bear. I don't like it, but I guess it's not worth my energy to gnash my teeth over it, because it's not going away.

I have to admit, if I had season tickets, I'd sell the tickets for the shows I didn't want to see. And I'd be awfully tempted to sell them for a few dollars above face value.
When I have extra Buffett tickets, I sell them at face value, period. But for other artists, I might just tack on ten or twenty dollars for my trouble. And would not be at all surprised to discover that's the way non-Buffett fans look at it if they have JB tickets to sell.

For the brokers, it's strictly business. They have no fan loyalty, but are selling a commodity for whatever the market will bear. I don't like it, but I recognize it as a fact of life.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Call the TM distributor and ask. This happened to me once, I was away, and the TM distributor couldn't sell until 15 minutes after the on-sale time. And, of course, by 10:15, GW will be sold out....

It would go away if people stopped buying them. But that's not going to happen, so I agree, why let it spoil your day.

OK I'm confused, GW tickets go on sale a week from today and when I search Jimmy Buffett on TM it says "No events scheduled in New England" and yet Pitts tix which also go on sale next week ARE listed. Teapartyconcerts.com (GW's ticket site) don't list the concert either. I called TM this week and they didn't have it listed yet either. How close to sale time do they acknowledge that they have tickets???

It varies. As long as you know that they'll be coming, don't worry. That's just Ticketbastard being Ticketbastard.

Thanks for helping the newbie CaptP - we have half a dozen people spreading out in person and on various computers ready to go at 10 next Saturday! Last year I got my tix on eBay but we're trying to get them at face value this year.

ticket scalpers get around it in Mass. Theres a loop hole in which they can charge a fee. In any case last year i got shut out but did get some ebay tickets for about 30 over face.....Its a tough ticket here. I hate the scalpers too, but if if you keep your eye out, you can really find some at the last minute for a fair price....
