Okay Kiddies, it's time to help my keet...again...

Since March is Celebrate Music Month (at least it is here!) and my Son's school is participating I need a few really good ideas. All the school rules apply, no drugs, sex, alcohol or illegal references like stealing (as in Taking back and Great Filling Station) . (I KNOW! THAT narrows it down!)

Last year I had a similar request about a report on a song and he chose Take Another Road. He did an awesome job on it too.

This year, if you bring in a cd, the principal will give it a listen and if he approves, it will be played after morning announcements in homeroom.
Since we are in Paris, we are leaning towards Last Mango In Paris but "damn" may boot that one out. He went to Paris has "pi$$ed" and that's already been overruled. Oh, Principal DID say NO RAP and NO UGLY songs (Ie, Cop Killer and such) Not that Buffett has done anything like that!

Capt' and the Kid is sad, Jolly Mon he views as a "kid song" since his little sister LOVES it.

So BNer's...can you help???

I don't know what made me think of this...but what about something off of "Christmas in the Caribbean?" I LOVE "Run Run Rudolph!" or whatever it's called :D

What about Remitiance Man??

The Twain background of the song might be +++ for a grade.

If all else fails, you could always go with "Banana Wind."

Just hit me...

How about "Far Side of the World?" Lots to work on in that one. Travel, adventure, other cultures, appreciating life, etc. etc.

Time to sing, time to dance
Living out my second chance!

Good luck. :D

Barometer Soup has a lot of 'kid-friendly' songs...

The Night That I Painted The Sky, Jimmy Dreams, Barometer Soup...

All positive with a great message and no naughty words.

Remittance Man is probably one of my all-time favorite songs ever, but it might be a bit sophisticated for grade schoolers. Not in a bad way, but I'm not sure if they have the context for it yet.
