I am not much of a baseball fan however, it's so tragic to see someone pass at such a young age and leave behind kids and other loved ones. Sail on Mr. Kirby. You will be missed.

Sail on... :( :( :(

Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,
I'm just a one man band,
With my feet in the sand,
Tonight I just need my guitar

What a sad day for baseball.
Barry Bonds could learn a LOT from this gentleman who was a true credit to the game.
The good do indeed die young.

Go with God and rest well, Mr. Puckett.

What a sad, sad story--he died far too young. Sail on, Kirby.

I loved him as a player, but I was so dissapointed to find out he was not as much of a class act as he had everyone believe.

That was 3 years ago.. some folks make mistakes.. and change. IMHO, today is not the day to bring it up. :(
I'm just not a big fan of guys who hit women.

It's a shame also that he hadn't been taking care of himself the last few years. Not many people who were close to him seem very shocked. It sounds like his health wasn't a high priority to him.

Saw him play many times at old Arlington Stadium in Texas.
He was definitely "one of the good ones"

As a big fan of Puckett and a person who golfed with him last fall in Trent Tuckers Golf classic, All I can say is a class individual. His off the field problems were more than amplified. Domestic abuse was never proven and he was cleared of all charges in the groping case. When Puckett first came up in 84 I was in 10th grade. Many times me and my buddies would be playing ball with a group of kids in Brooklyn Center and low and behold Kirby would show up and play with the younger kids. He never refused an autograph seeker, always had a smile on his face, and a laugh in his heart. He played professional sports the way it should be played. It is a game and he had fun doing it. He turned down more money from the Red Sox to stay in Minnesota.
Sail on Kirby and thank you for autographing those balls for me and my son and patting him on the head last year. If the world had more people and athletes like you it would be a better place.
heck he probably could have made Bin Laden laugh.

Sail on Kirby :( :( . I've lived in Minnesota my whole life and Kirby was such a class act when it came to baseball and brought excitement to a state where sports fans don't have much to cheer about. He will truely be missed.
