Chicago - Tinley Park - Venue Name Changes again?

Post by jiggs(2) »

So for the 3rd time in as many years, the sponsorship/ownership of the 'World/Tweeter' is changing..? I swear this wasn't out there even a week ago...it appears that it is now sponsored by First Midwest Bank..?

My question is this, will the tailgating rules be changed once again? This was turning out to be a okay tailgate spot, 100% improvement on what it was when it was just 'the World', but I'd hate to see it revert back to that...or are the rules managed by the owners of the place, not the sponsors?

The name doesn't quite roll off the tounge, but I guess its all about marketing...

This was also discussed last week in, I think, the who's going to Tinley Park thread.

I wouldn't expect the tailgating policy to change as that is a town regulation rather than the venue's.

The story as I have heard it: Tinley Park prohibits tailgating anywhere in town, but Jimmy pays a set fine so that his fans are allowed to tailgate. Usually they open things up at about 4pm.

It is a naming rights contract that changed, not management

Officially it is not allowed. They sort of turn the other way When Buffett comes to town. They have never had too many problems. I have seen them shut down cars that are pushing the limits, generators, people linig up to do beer bongs etc. As long as yo don't get too wild they won't bother you too much.
